The number one issue stopping me from achieving my trading goals is capital. Unfortunately, I lost the manufacturing company I purchased in 2019. This has created a temporary financial hardship.
Prior to that it wasn’t the capital but myself. Let me explain. Trading is unlike anything out there. Becoming a successful trader is different than anything we’ve been doing our entire lives. It takes rewiring your brain and establishing your trader identity. What do I mean by this? Think about it. I mean, really be present and think about it. Just compare your everyday life to trading. We work long hours. If we want more money or success we push harder and work more. We constantly take action all day. We avoid uncertainty because it’s safe and comfortable. And our everyday world allows us to operate within some degree of certainty. We like control and actually believe to some degree we have it. If we perform less than 100%, or at least no less than 80%, we are failures. We are impatient. We want everything tomorrow. We are distracted more than ever. And there’s plenty of things or people to blame when things don’t go our way. Sound familiar? I can go on about limiting beliefs, emotional resilience, and many other things but I’m trying hard to make this short.
Now, think about trading. When you think about trading be mindful and aware of the emotion and feelings that come up. Trading is so very different than our entire lives, from being a kid all the way up until now. You don’t have to work long, crazy, intense hours to be successful at trading. In fact, if you do or try, the opposite will happen. You make great profit on a trade in the first 2 hours of the trading session, maybe the first 30 minutes. Wait, that’s it? I have to take action. I have the entire day. I can trade more and work harder. You don’t only give away your profit, but now you’re down a lot. Sound familiar? Your mind starts to manufacture trade set-ups that don’t exist. Now, you impulse trade, revenge trade, chase trades, or size up the next day, and now you lose a lot of money and blow-up accounts. It’s not your fault. No negative self-talk allowed here. It’s how we were wired to function our entire lives. You still work hard at trading, only different. You make no more than one to three trades a day, mostly one, than your done. Don’t worry about the big trade you missed. You can’t catch them all. Tomorrow is another trading day full of opportunities. Like Awais says, a 2R profit on any given day is a great day in the market. Now you work on journaling, meditation, reflecting on your trading day, maybe workout or go for a walk, or work on the market narrative from the perspective of a participant. Very different, right? Isn’t that the whole purpose? Isn’t trading supposed to give us the freedom and life of abundance we want? Not until we learn to let go and really work hard at our trader identity. Learning to let go and surrender is key. Trading is full of uncertainty. You have zero control of the market. You can do everything right and still lose. But you do control how consistently you execute the E-mini Player methodology. And Vulcan Trader helps with this, immensely. The good news. Unlike the lives we live currently, you can be insanely profitable with a 40%-win rate. Not 100% or even 80%. Losses are part of doing business, move on.
I’ll leave with this. The E-mini Player membership and methodology, Vulcan Trader, and the mentorship offered twice a year by Awais are a must for any trader! While I am working on my trader mindset, Vulcan Trader makes trade execution simple. Even when I can’t use it because of capital constraints, I can still use it to plot orders and visualize trades and set a resting market order at the appropriate entry with 1 micro. It takes the thinking out of trading while I am learning. It handles risk/reward, stop placement, target setting and so much more. Radovan was my coach during the mentorship and he was nothing short of amazing. He’s the real deal! If you don’t already, please invest in yourself as a trader with Vulcan and these other tools. We invest in ourselves in every other aspect of our lives. Don’t we?
Thank you, Awais, Radovan, everyone behind the scenes, and the E-mini community!
With grace and humility always,
Rich

on a side note - last year during high vol, one of the recaps talked about how tick readings if unable to produce fluidity in movement then its also information and we have a decent example of that today so far. Thanks Awais, Happy Friday 👊

Short PRMR on first test leaning on ST bias, exhaustion (76% on the new VT meter!), and NQ exhausted into back of it's IR zone (and being a full on bearish ST bias, unlike ES). Scale and HP hit, +0.91R in the bag. Executed on VT. Thank you @eminiplayer and HAGW

PMR short on 1st test and exhaustion W. ST.NBearish bias and intermarket trigger with NQ testing its own IR and internals there was a bearish disconnect and mediocre upside momentum - HP hit final at agg support for 3R
$ES_F Overnight: Buyers active at the 7318-7330 Bias Confirming Support and Bull/Bear Zone 🎯

$NQ_F Short-term Bias remained Neutral-Bearish 🔻 and yesterday, NQ failed a few points ahead of its Bull/Bear Zone 🎯
Pre-Market: NQ held below the 28405-28512 Aggressive Resistance (Holding Below Signals Weakness) and off the Open, it broke below the 27981.75-28143.75 Initial Support signaling a Bearish Intraday Bias.
As I covered in the $ES_F Trade Plan: keep an eye on NQ; the weakness in that market is still in-play and a break-down in NQ can drag ES lower with it. 7678-7682 = Intraday Bull/Bear Zone in ES; break below shifted the control back to Sellers.
Vulcan Trader users received the latest S/R Zones inside the platform 30 minutes before everyone else 🖖
$NQ_F Short-term Bias remained Neutral-Bearish (it's the weaker market right now).
Sellers stepped in a few points ahead of the 28980.25-29073.25 Resistance + Bull/Bear Zone 🎯

the first 10-15 mins was very good heads up especially via NQ that this was setting up to be an unusual day. No need to try to buy in front of massive liquidation
