Watch the news and get depressed...OR come to @openingbell tonight and hear some hilarious stories and heartfelt songs by @QuincyForte, #JeffreyMichaelWidman, @LambertBrian7, and me!
I promise that, no matter how many sad songs we play, we'll be more uplifting than the news.
Singing Mass anywhere is a great gift, but there is something very, very special about getting to serve as cantor in the parish where I grew up.
If the only thing that comes from my dissertation presentation is that more people get the joke when I reference John Cage's "4:33," that *might* be worth it. #musicnerdforlife
We all have people in our lives who've made us who we are. I helped my dear friend and student write this song about his person: open.spotify.com/album/19K0a….
Who's YOUR person? Who's helped you become who you are today? Tag them!
So...I got a sales report from Spotify in which ten pages of reported streams amounted to 25 cents. Just, you know, in case anyone's wondering about the state of the music industry these days.

Music is a gift from God that unites us, remakes us, and heals us. Working with a dear friend on a song to honor the love he has for his wife was an incredible reminder of that. Tony Mendoza's beautiful track, "Why I Love You," is out now: open.spotify.com/album/19K0a…. Check it out!
A dear friend sent me this today when I needed it today, so I'm sharing it just in case you need it too. :)

Twenty-five years since Little Plastic Castle was released and I’m happy see new life breathed into it. An overall remastering by Heba Kadry and outtakes mixed by Tchad Blake and pressed into hot wax.

Sometimes, you're making a spreadsheet with addresses, taking note of your friends' spouses and addresses, and in the "spouse" column for your priest friends, you put "God"...and it makes you chuckle, even if no one else knows.
...except I guess that, now, someone else knows. 😂

A little girl wrote to the Los Angeles Department of Animal Control asking if she could have a pet unicorn.
Their response is everything.

Things are running off the rail after a very long day of filming with show hosts @emmemusic, @JoelHashop, and @sydneymcope . #dallas #dallasmusicscene #dallasfilm @DMNMusicNetwork, @dallasculture, @TwoStageTV 🤣
Sometimes, you confess to the very sweet barista at @Starbucks that you have to stay up until you finish a paper, and she very kindly slips an extra shot of espresso into your drink. RESEARCH, HERE I COME.
This is unbelievably insulting…and arguably one of the reasons Republicans are losing younger demographics by startling numbers. Possible that this patronizing attitude is not a compassionate strategy…and certainly not a winning one.
