being able to change your mind without feeling embarrassed is an underrated form of intelligence

I think we’ve gotten really bad at distinguishing between “this worked for me” and “this is how everyone should live.” Career advice, productivity, health, relationships, entrepreneurship. Someone can have a valuable perspective without it becoming a universal truth.

Hot take: building is still hard. The barrier to entry has gotten dramatically lower. More people can build, faster and cheaper than ever before. But building something good? Something people actually want, that works well, is thoughtfully designed, has taste, and holds up as it scales? Still really hard. Distribution matters, but great distribution can’t save a bad product.

In a world increasingly mediated by technology, invest in your people. Invite them over, make the plans, introduce people who should know each other, create reasons to gather. I have a feeling our relationships are only going to become more valuable.

Four years ago, the Cansbridge Fellowship completely changed the trajectory of my life. Some of the brightest, most ambitious and kindest people in Canada are part of this community, and I feel incredibly lucky to call so many of them family! A little glimpse of the community from our annual conference this past weekend 💙

A couple of weeks ago, I wrapped up my time at Stan. In a short amount of time, I got to do more than I could have imagined. I hired and worked alongside an incredible team, hosted events across Toronto, built a community for some of the brightest Canadian builders, and helped bring @stanleybystan into the world. It was fast, ambitious, and an experience that taught me an enormous amount. I feel lucky to have gotten to work with some incredibly smart, kind and talented humans, many of whom have become friends for life. @vitaliidodonov and @JayHoovy, I’m especially grateful for the trust you both placed in me and everything I learned working alongside you. Thank you to everyone who made my time at Stan what it was. On to the next chapter! ❤️
