After over 18 months of chemotherapy, surgery and more, my amazing wife Lucy got to ring the bell at Colchester Hospital today to signify the end of her cancer treatment. She is an inspiration and I could not be more proud. Thank you to the incredible hospital staff too. ❤️

Every now and then, we are asked for bells in different languages. Bell 518 was made especially for a little girl to ring at her hospital which is the Ospedale San Giovanni in Switzerland. Her mum wanted the poem on it to be in Italian as they live in an Italian speaking canton
and of course, we were only too happy to oblige.
Thank you for contacting us Elisabetta. Lots of love to you and your little girl 🎗️🥰

As well as the bell that went to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, we donated our 91st Milestone Plaque too.
This ‘add on’ plaque has a different poem on it so patients can choose which poem they want to use when they ring the bell. It was written by a lovely lady called Jane Brady who
has ongoing treatment for metastatic breast cancer. Jane wanted to ring the bell to celebrate milestones in her own treatment journey and wrote the poem to be more inclusive.
Of course, we don’t ever stipulate when someone should ring a bell.
Originally, it was rolled out as an end of treatment bell (hence our name) but as time passed, it was clear that people wanted to ring it for many reasons. And we’re all for that! 🔔🙌🏻

Bell 517 has gone to Ward C2 at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and will be used as a mobile bell for families to ring.
This bell was sponsored by Sofia Honey Adcock. We asked her mum, Sammy, to tell us why she wanted to do this:
“Sofia Honey, 12, is a leukaemia survivor and wanted to
hospitals. They both hold a very special place in her heart.
We also do lots of fundraising, share our journey and raise awareness around childhood cancer. Please follow us on Instagram – adcock_family_adventures.
Sponsored with lots of love for all on this tough journey, Sofia Honey xx”
Thank you so much for your support. Sponsorship of bells enables us to carry on sending bells out free of charge within the UK. Please get in touch if you are interested.
