We've postponed our programs for the next 2 months. But you can still listen to past NL programs, like this talk from @nick_w_estes on the history of Indigenous protest & activism. soundcloud.com/newberrylibra…
My office-mate is also a strong believer in the fact that not all library-workers are quiet. Here she is chatting up a storm:

This makes me so happy! Listening to @WBEZCuriousCity was one of the first things that made Chicago feel like home (and of course @NewberryLibrary was another one of those things)

I think it's sweet that our definitely-not-sentient postcard bot appears to be as fond of birds as I am.
Adding this to my "collection materials to show visitors" list immediately.

DIY book printing found an early practitioner in #William#Blake. Instead of relying on mainstream printers to publish his books, the famously cantankerous #Romantic -era poet and professionally-trained engraver ran the entire process himself. #romanticism #poetry #illustration

When I was 16, I referenced a painting I found online to make an oil pastel drawing for a contest. Now, 9 years later, I find that painting again in our Raphael Tuck & Son's postcard collection, and it has me just as enchanted as it did then. archive.org/details/nby_LL26…
