Who cannot anguish at the vast majority of souls in our day who seem to throw themselves fervently into damnation?

16th Century Theologian: Pope St. Siricius & St. Gregory Nazianzen Rejected “Baptism Of Desire” Fr. Juan de Maldonado was a Spanish Jesuit theologian who died in 1583.  He admitted that Pope St. Siricius and important Church father St. Gregory Nazianzen (who is named the Theologian) rejected “baptism of desire”.  The fact that they rejected “baptism of desire” is obvious to any honest person who reads what Pope St. Siricius and St. Gregory actually wrote on the matter.  However, many John 3:5 mockers are so dishonest that they won’t even admit that Pope St. Siricius and St. Gregory the Theologian denied “baptism of desire”.  Hence, a statement from a theologian who acknowledged this is noteworthy.  Note that Maldonado presumes that the aforementioned individuals believed that martyrdom could replace baptism, but there’s no proof for his assertion and his statement on this point can be disregarded.  The Church’s teaching demonstrates that all the martyrs in Heaven received the Sacrament of  Baptism (see Pope Benedict XII, Benedictus Deus) and that no one is saved without rebirth of water and the Spirit.  See our video: 2,000 Years Of Infallible Papal Teaching On Baptism’s Absolute Necessity. Fr. Juan Maldonado, Opera varia theologica, Vol. 1, 1677 (De Baptismo, Q. 4), p. 59: “Among the ancients there were some who insisted on baptism itself so strictly that they thought everyone perished who died either unbaptized or not by a martyr’s death.  Of this opinion was the author of the book On Ecclesiastical Doctrines, chapter 74: ‘We do not believe that a catechumen has life, even if he died in good works.’  So also Pope [Siricius] in his letter to the bishop of Tarragona, and Gregory of Nazianzus in the oration on holy baptism [Oration 40].” Also, it wasn’t just Pope St. Siricius (in his decree to Himerius) and St. Gregory the Theologian who rejected “baptism of desire”.  The early Church itself did, as we showed in the aforementioned video by citing Pope St. Leo the Great, Pope St. Zosimus, and more.

How are people shocked that women are defending a woman who killed her kids? They’ve been doing that with abortion for decades already. Jeremiah 32:35

Anger can be the right response to certain things. But zeal can easily tip into disorder. Remember that the greatest of the theological virtues is love; praying for those who offend you is a meritorious practice for reparation and for those who offend God. (1 Cor. 13, Luke 23:34)

“Makeup,” which goes beyond the corrective and enhances appearance beyond what is natural, is evil. It disgusts me; I wonder when this practice became normative.

My own weakness surprises me. Should God remove even some of His grace, I would, at once, fall. Without God we can do nothing. Even then, how often do we choose to fall? The smallest grace I haven’t deserved.

Why do you say you love Jesus and then continue in offending Him? If you loved God you would follow His commandments. Many intellectually assent, how many really assent? Do not build your house on sand.

Almost all self-proclaimed “atheists” are not practicing, and the few that did killed themselves.

The current state of things becomes clearer when you put the modernists into perspective. They don’t see the Church as a truly supernatural institution. That’s why when their “pope” does something counter to the faith, they defend him endlessly. Not because they defend the papacy, but rather because they defend the man. It is human respect and sentimentality, not faith, that drives them. They view the Church as a human institution. If it were faith that drove them, they would truly defend the papacy by recognizing these men as apostates who mock the office of St. Peter. This is why we are in the “great apostasy” and not the “great heresy”. They do not believe! The same can be said about false traditionalists who, though claiming to oppose the antipopes and the “modernists”, really are just another flavor of them. They put their specific organization or this particular person in place of the faith, even if it is a saint; what injury it is to put the opinions of any one holy person over that of the Church! If they truly held that saint in high regard, they would subject all of their opinions to the Church; because that is all that the saints desired to do! On the contrary, they take these opinions as if they are the faith itself; in doing so, they make a mockery of the saints they claim to respect. It is one thing if it were confusion, but many of them are not confused. They know these men are not infallible; they know that perhaps even the Church has taught the contrary. They put man over the faith, man in place of God. When you strip away the layers of externals, they have the same hideous view of Holy Mother Church and the modernists they claim to oppose. That is why, along with them, they do not belong to it; they reject Christ and His mystical body!

Very powerful video. I have regrettably fallen into the specific acts of pride mentioned in this video. I have been puffed up on this very account in the past and I have made myself a fool. Do not hesitate to correct me in charity, I am worthy of correction and know little. Thank you MHFM yet again.

If at any time I shall speak of something contrary to what the Church has taught, my opinion should be held as utterly worthless, nay, condemnable, and I should be at once called out and humiliated for uttering such a thing.
