Bernie Sanders wants national rent control: "Tell landlords they cannot simply jack up their rents to any rate they want!" He should look at what happened in St Paul. Politicians there passed the strictest rent control in the country:

Do you think the anti-gun left understands that "you'll shoot your eye out" was a JOKE?!🙄 They're so unserious. No registration for any guns—ever.

If you’re a fan of mine, he doesn’t want your vote in the midterms. Oct 1, Trump, “Thomas Massie is a sleazebag, comes from Kentucky. He was semi-popular, but not somebody that could be beaten. And I campaigned against him, and I beat him in the election.” time.com/article/2026/10/01/…

The friend/enemy distinction is being applied to every aspect of American private and public life. Time to tribe up and ruthlessly act in your own groups self interests.
I work at a large finance firm and hire interns/new grads. If a man applies and I see he was part of a frat. Resume is going straight into the shredder.

Republicans could have strolled right through midterm elections without Iran. Now the GOP is going to be wiped out in November, all for what? The idea that Iran would get a nuke and decide to end the world? You know what you have happened if Iran had a nuke? Israel would no longer be able to do whatever it wanted, whenever it wanted in the region. Nothing else. You know what country having nukes is scarier? North Korea. By a large margin. Even then, they don't want to cease existing.

The average logic of deterrence does not change because it’s a county Benjamin Netanyahu wants to occupy. Iran with a nuke is no scarier than any other adversarial nation.

19th century's Bastiat: Since the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to allow them liberty, how comes it to pass that the tendencies of organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their agents form a part of the human race? Do they consider that they are composed of different materials from the rest of mankind? They say that society, when left to itself, rushes to inevitable destruction, because its instincts are perverse. They presume to stop it in its downward course, and to give it a better direction. They have, therefore, received from heaven, intelligence and virtues that place them beyond and above mankind: let them show their title to this superiority. They would be our shepherds, and we are to be their flock. This arrangement presupposes in them a natural superiority, the right to which we are fully justified in calling upon them to prove. You must observe that I am not contending against their right to invent social combinations, to propagate them, to recommend them, and to try them upon themselves, at their own expense and risk; but I do dispute their right to impose them upon us through the medium of the law, that is, by force and by public taxes. I would not insist upon the Cabetists, the Fourierists, the Proudhonians, the Academics, and the Protectionists renouncing their own particular ideas; I would only have them renounce the idea that is common to them all—viz., that of subjecting us by force to their own categories and rankings to their social laboratories,
Power selects for a specific personality type, and it is not yours. F.A. Hayek spelled this out in 1944. In a centrally planned system, the people who rise are not the most competent or the most honest. They are the most willing to exercise force against strangers, the most comfortable with contradiction, and the most skilled at coalition-building through favors rather than merit. Government filters for the bad ones from the start. The mechanism is straightforward. Political power means controlling resources you did not earn. Capturing that control requires outcompeting rivals who have no ethical constraints. A principled candidate refuses to promise contradictory things to different voter blocs. An unprincipled one does it without blinking. The unprincipled one wins. Repeat this selection pressure across hundreds of electoral cycles and you get the U.S. Congress in 2026: a body where the average member has held office for over a decade, raised millions from interested parties, and delivered almost nothing measurable to the people who voted for them. Bureaucracy compounds the problem. Once entrenched, state agencies attract people who want authority without accountability. You cannot fire most of them. The FDA, the TSA, the Federal Reserve all function this way, staffed by individuals whose career advancement depends on expanding the agency's reach, never on serving you efficiently.

People do not hate government enough.
🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting in Jacksonville FL after a 77-YEAR-OLD man with a BROKEN ANKLE, walking with a CANE, was put in HANDCUFFS at his own warehouse... ...for leaving cat food out for 7 stray cats he's cared for for 16 YEARS since his ONLY SON passed away!!! The charge? "Feeding raccoons." Florida put a grieving 77-year-old father in HANDCUFFS over a bowl of cat food. His name is Louis Abbruzze. In 2010, Louis and his wife lost their only son, and not long after, a few stray cats started showing up around their warehouse. They did everything right. Trapped them. Got them vaccinated. Got them fixed. Found homes for as many as they could. But even with all of that work, seven cats stayed. Every night for 16 YEARS, Louis has cracked the warehouse door so those cats can come in out of the weather, eat, and sleep. "These cats are not just cats," Louis said. "They're my children." "That's what kept my wife and I going. We found something that made us human again." Then, about a year and a half ago, the property's HOA hired new management. Suddenly the door had to stay shut. Then, somebody called Florida Fish and Wildlife and said a tenant was feeding raccoons. FWC officers came out and warned him and he was cited. Louis says he did exactly what they told him: feed the cats, and pull the food if a raccoon shows up. "I started doing exactly what the FWC said," he said. AND IT GETS WORSE. On September 15th, the officers came back. Not with another citation. With HANDCUFFS. "He says, 'Now turn around and put out your hands,'" Louis said. "Cuffed me. Put my cuffs on right there. I can't walk. I've got a broken ankle. I'm walking with a cane." They put a 77-year-old man with a cane in a car an hauled him off from his own property on a MISDEMEANOR. He says he was treated "as a common criminal." Meanwhile, in the same state, violent offenders walk out on no bond every single day. But the old man with the cats? Cuffs. LET THE MAN FEED HIS FREAKING CATS!!!!!!!

🚨BREAKING🚨 GOA’s Antonyuk case was decided at the district court. We won on NY’s airport carry ban. The judge says the CCIA "conceivable or even likely" violates Bruen, Rahimi, Hemani, and Wolford but he is bound by the Second Circuit & ruled against us on other carry bans.

In 1626, England’s Parliament sought to impeach the Duke of Buckingham, a widely despised advisor to King Charles I. The king moved quickly to shield his favorite; on hearing the news, he said curtly that Parliament would sit “not a minute” more and gave orders for its immediate dissolution. Exactly four centuries later, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) has taken a page from the Stuart playbook, dismissing our own legislature (or at least, its lower chamber) to protect an unpopular official. theamericanconservative.com/…

OUTRAGEOUS. When Trump said, “I am your retribution,” did he really mean not arresting a single Democrat and instead bringing the full force of the federal government down on an innocent autistic black man wrongfully accused as the Jan 5th pipe bomber?? Abhorrent!!!
I have vacillated between tears and anger this morning while finally reading the transcript of what @FBI put Brian Cole Jr. through on the morning of Dec. 4. I sincerely hope @dbongino and @Kash_Patel burn in whatever eternal punishment is the opposite of Kash's beloved Valhalla. storage.courtlistener.com/re…

California just passed a gun law for your 3D printer. Not a gun. The printer. The law says consumer 3D printers sold in California need technology that can identify and block attempts to print firearms or illegal firearm parts. So your printer is supposed to look at a file and figure out if it is a gun part. A tube? A barrel? A random bracket? The printer has to know. And the technology to do that still depends on a standard that has not been written yet. But here is the part that tells you everything: Hollywood gets a carveout. Printers used exclusively to make props for the entertainment industry get a hall pass. So California does not trust the regular guy with a printer in his garage… but it trusts the town that makes billion-dollar movies about shooting people. And Newsom’s own press release says ghost guns recovered as crime guns are already down since 2021. So the problem is shrinking by their own numbers… and the fix is a mandate that may not show up until the end of the decade. Be honest: Is this about stopping criminals, or controlling everything around the gun?
