It's funny, because I actually don't mind if people upload my fic in the gdrives that are circulating right now.
What I do mind, is people shouting down the writers who express their discomfort. It's about courtesy and empathy in a fandom community, and not being a hypocrite.
Adding to my earlier post, I think everyone should ask themselves these questions:
1) What is your stance on reposting fanart without permission?
2) What is your stance on reposting famart without permission but with credit?
3) Do you have the same stances towards fanfic?
My hot(?) take is that the same fandom norms and etiquette on reposting fanart, should apply to fanfic.
This is regardless of how permissive individual writers are about their fic, just like how the norms exist regardless of how permissive individual artists are about their art.

Re: Sharing of downloaded fics due to AO3 outage
Pls try your best to find the authors of fics you read while we’re surviving on pdf of fics. Writers are already sad when they publish on ao3 and receive little feedback. Now their fics are shared around completely untethered to

Idk maybe instead of relying on the Internet Archive and people’s download collections it would be a nice time to actually build the community that’s been sorely missing in the fanfic space lately and reach out to your writer oomfs whose fics you were reading or had on hold
I was actively trying to carve out time tonight to finish my nrhs halloween fic and post it tomorrow. Now I feel all untethered lollll
AO3's prolonged downtime is making me wonder if we should bring back the era of writers having their own personal fanfic sites...
Trying to get back into a writing groove. Let's see if I manage to finish a halloween fic this year... :DDD;;;
Can't believe I said QRT 5 months ago lol. The adulting life has truly had me in a chokehold ;A;
But! I'm back for a bit, and I shall be slowly catching up with things...
