The UK gov is stealing more than the Binance hacker and some people apparently voted for them, and the predecessors. This is an extraordinary list…
Update: In the 27 months since Labour came to power, we've seen; • Employer National Insurance increased from 13.8% to 15%. • The employer NI threshold cut from £9,100 to £5,000. • The freeze on Income Tax and National Insurance thresholds extended to 2031. • Capital Gains Tax increased from 10% and 20% to 18% and 24%. • Business Asset Disposal Relief increased from 10% to 14%, then 18% – and now its lifetime limit halved to £500,000. • Investors’ Relief raised to 18% and its lifetime limit cut from £10 million to £1 million. • CGT relief on sales to Employee Ownership Trusts halved. • Carried interest taxation increased and moved into the Income Tax regime. • Dividend tax rates increased by two percentage points. • Savings-income tax rates increased by four percentage points. • Property-income tax rates increased by four percentage points. • VCT income tax relief cut from 30% to 20%. • Most unused pension funds brought into the Inheritance Tax net. • Agricultural and Business Property Relief capped. • Inheritance Tax thresholds frozen until 2031. • The non-dom regime replaced with a tougher residence-based system. • VAT imposed on private school fees. • Business-rates relief removed from private schools. • The Stamp Duty surcharge on second homes and buy-to-let raised from 3% to 5%. • The Furnished Holiday Lettings regime abolished. • A new annual surcharge on homes worth £2 million or more. • Pension salary-sacrifice NI relief capped at £2,000 a year. • The bank surcharge doubled. • Capital allowances for plant and machinery cut twice. • Online gaming duty almost doubled. • The Energy Profits Levy increased and extended, and its investment allowance scrapped. • Vaping Products Duty brought in and tobacco duties increased above inflation. • Vehicle Excise Duty increased for many new cars, with electric vehicles brought in. • A pay-per-mile tax on electric and plug-in hybrid cars legislated for 2028. • Air Passenger Duty increased. • Making Tax Digital extended to more landlords and self-employed people. Together they represent one of the biggest transfers of wealth from households and businesses to the Treasury in decades – with little to show for it in public services. Whether you're a business owner employing staff, a parent paying school fees, a farmer planning succession, an entrepreneur building wealth or simply someone trying to save for your family’s future... - You keep less of what you earn. - You keep less of what you invest. - You leave less for your family. Death by a thousand cuts.

Something worth learning about if you haven’t already. Take the leap.
Just a heads up that I opened my shop up in the second half of last week. Current lead time for orders is ~5 days but is thankfully trending back to the usual 1-2. I immensely appreciate everyone who has supported my work on the @SeedSigner project. 🧡 btc-hardware-solutions.squar…

Definitely on the 'left' of this argument :) @natbrunell with more great comms, simple enough for everyone to hear. Get this video in front of anyone you care about that doesn't understand broken money and the bitcoin fix.
This video is about the lived experience of Broken Money. My team and I worked for over a month on this one, I hope you will check it out and share it.

Everywhere the apex predator roams with its orange glow, some run for the hills, some check their head is still firmly in the ground, some see freedom. After 40 years as a Christian I've realised some people miss value. @Eggplant_Elon Bitcoin maybe, sadly, caught not taught.
Absolutely seething! Spent most of this afternoon in the queue at my local branch of HSBC trying to open a Bitcoin account, only to be told they don't exist. At this point, I produced a clip of the Chancellor of the Exchequer saying they do, and the cashier looked at me the way you'd look at a man producing a clip of the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Asked for the manager and made the mistake of saying the word Bitcoin a 2nd time, at which point my debit card was frozen for my own protection, and I was walked into a side room by a man from Compliance who wanted to know if anyone was coercing me, whether I'd met the seller in person, and if I understood that criminals mainly use this sort of thing. I said the Chancellor of the Exchequer has an account. He wrote that down and asked for a description. Not all a waste, though, as I left the branch with a leaflet on Premium Bonds and an HSBC Flexible Saver paying 1.35%, which the manager described as competitive without saying who with. Officially, inflation's at 3 and a bit, so I'm now guaranteed to lose money slowly, with FSCS protection, in an account that definitely exists. He said it's the responsible option. Which is roughly the national position. Other countries are building reserves of it whilst Britain seized 61,000 coins, panicked, and is now trying to flog them to fund £2 quid bus fares. The Chancellor thinks it lives in a savings account. The bank thinks it lives in a police station. And somewhere in Liverpool, a room full of people applauded a man for not knowing what money is, which, to be fair, is the only thing he's been consistent on. ✌️

We should all ask Grok the same question - or at least 99 times, then I think we get the right entropy. Or better still, let’s just ask Blackrock to ask Grok, then we can definitely rely on it.
Elon Musk asks Grok: Can quantum computers crack Bitcoin's SHA-256? 🔸Near 0% chance in 5 years 🔸Less than 10% by 2035. Bitcoin is safe for now. 🛡️

Just right at this moment that is the best looking thing n the world! Enjoy :)

It feels akin to treason...
🚨THEY'VE KNOWN FOR YEARS🚨 In this TFTC podcast from MARCH 2021, @odellxyz explains how he was informed by @nvk of a bug in Coldcard's v4.0 firmware, the nature of which could not be revealed to him lest such information enable him to steal Coldcard user's Bitcoin. WTF

These guys know @bitcoinwell
Gary Cardone looked at self-custody, saw a little friction, and said "GTFO, not scalable." That reflex is the entire reason Bitcoin had to exist. You see, the dice rolls aren't the point. They're a UX problem, and UX problems get solved. What doesn't get solved on its own is the mindset underneath the comment: the belief that doing the work yourself is beneath you, that "serious money" hands its keys to a suit and calls it control. It isn't control. The money an institution holds for you is the money that gets frozen, loaned out behind your back, and seized. Ask anyone whose account froze in 2022. Ask the Americans who lived through Executive Order 6102. The friction is temporary. The subservience is permanent, right up until the day you decide to hold your own keys. Serious money isn't the money a custodian guards. It's the money nobody can take. Not your keys, not your coins. Not your entropy, not your keys.

Great post. Digital scarcity was a work in progress for decades and involved several failed attempts at creating digital gold. Satoshi cracked the case.
People think one guy just snapped his fingers and created Bitcoin… In reality Satoshi fit pieces of an elaborate puzzle together in perfect balance and harmony Those puzzle pieces took over 40 years and countless individuals to make

Ignore the headline, watch the video, especially halfway through that's when Huang gets interesting - thoughts like 'too big', 'too heavy', 'too long'... 'gone'. Just gone, AI makes it about ideas, architecture, the era of everything's possible is on the horizon. As they say in cheesy posts - Act Accordingly.

And people say this is going to zero. Nicely played Mr S. What a venue!
This week at Goldman Sachs’ Digital Assets Conference in London, I discussed Bitcoin, Digital Credit, and the future of capital markets. Extraordinary venue. Exceptional audience.
