Women are so jealous. I bet Eve counted Adam's ribs everyday to see if another woman had been created.

This is the story - bikozulu.co.ke/2021/09/14/sc…
I remember reading it immediately after it was published. I am just shocked that was back in 2021.
Nonetheless, the story stuck with me because the poverty experience is relatively similar, & this is exactly what she is talking about.
.@bikozulu did a related story a while back about a young man from Kisii who grew up in poverty, managed to make good money, but eventually lost it all trying to fit in.

Unearthed video: Bill Clinton praises the 2007 University of Michigan senior speaker, Abdul El-Sayed, on his commencement speech
"I don't want to embarrass your senior speaker. But I wish every person in the world who believes that we are fated to have a clash of civilizations and cannot reach across the religious divides could've heard you speak today. I just wish every person in the world could've heard you speak today."

All year, General Muhoozi kept saying Uganda should leave Somalia. Most dismissed it as social media noise. Somali sources tell a different story: the message wasn’t coming from Kampala, but from Abu Dhabi. UAE’s targets: Türkiye’s planned spaceport at Warsheikh and its oil exploration off the Somali coast. The plan: strip Somalia of its security shield before they’re built. Uganda’s exit is step one.

I feel this article is well worth reading. It helps dispel the myth that critical thinking can be applied to all situations. Many educational programs and business leaders have advocated for learning “higher-order thinking skills,” assuming these skills will then be++

David Ndii argues that Kenya's economy is growing faster than official KNBS figures suggest, citing accelerating activity across several sectors:
— Average growth across selected physical output indicators rose from 6.8% in 2024 to 11% in 2025, accelerating to 19% in Jan–Aug 2026.
— Vehicle registrations jumped 58% and motor vehicle assembly rose 35% in Jan–Aug 2026, while cement, electricity and milk volumes showed weaker growth.
— Sugar production rebounded ~50% in Jan–Aug 2026 following reforms and private-sector participation in formerly state-run mills.
— Sugar farmers are now reportedly paid twice monthly, compared with previous delays of months or years, helping revive local economies.
— Coffee cultivation is expanding across the Rift Valley and Western Kenya. Ndii expects acreage to double, with coffee exports potentially overtaking tea within a few years.
— Ndii questions why official GDP growth remains relatively unchanged despite accelerating physical output, suggesting official statistics may be missing structural changes in the economy.

Losing AGOA has more potential impact on
SA where exports to the US were 4% of SA's GDP, than
Rwanda (around 0.2% of GDP)
This is a preferential tariff, losing it doesn't wipe out the exports, just makes them expensive
South Africa and Rwanda have lost their eligibility to the African Growth and Opportunity Act, a preferential US trade agreement that Pretoria had lobbied hard to retain. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
