I don’t think I ever shared the wonderful story about my Airbnb hosts and how they went above & beyond when I injured my foot.
I was meant to be checking out that morning and heading to Doncaster. When it became clear I was quite seriously injured they went out of their way to accommodate me all day until some family could come and assist me. Sorted me out lunch, kept me hydrated and ultimately made me feel at ease about everything. Despite having more guests coming that evening, they accommodated me all day until 7pm.
If anyone is ever looking for somewhere to stay in Huntingdon, then look here below! I’m already trying to plan a return trip next year!

Hey @ScotRail just want to say your guard on the heavily delayed 1553 service to Carlisle off Kilmarnock was a shining beacon of happiness.
Delays happen, especially in a storm. But it’s how delays are dealt with that matters. Your guard between Kilmarnock & Dumfries apologised to every single passenger when checking tickets and was offering support for their onward travel plans. All with a smile on her face.
This is how you deal with delays. Please pass on my thanks to her!
What GBR promise to deliver vs what it’ll most likely deliver…
Sometimes you’ve just got to laugh about it, otherwise you’d probably just cry 😩
When you get to the station and take “Delayed” as a win 😩
Might just sleep in the waiting room at Oxenholme 😂
Anyone knows what’s happening on WCML between OXN & Penrith? Got family on a stationary train near Shap summit.
@AvantiWestCoast
Spot on @MrTimDunn
Well said! Bravo 🙌
Back in Cumbria today!
The weather today is most certainly nothing like it is in this throwback photo! Summer well and truly over!
Ah well, only 65 days until Christmas 🎅
And just like that this mini trip comes to an end!
I do love the fact I can depart Shotton in Wales at 2140 and still get back to Ulverston in Cumbria for bed! 0009 arrival much preferred than the 0515 first departure of the day 😂
Hope everyone enjoyed following along!
After a couple of days trundling around Wales branch lines. This is going to feel supersonic speed for this run up to Preston from Warrington Bank Quay.
An enjoyable few hours catching up with Chris and chatting everything and anything rail related!
Sadly it’s now time to start the journey home!
Be sure to give a @EngFocus a follow. All round good knowledgeable friend of mine!
And we have arrived at Hawarden Bridge! Time to go and find Chris to chat railways and future stations.
Now at Wrexham Central! Was expecting a class 230, but guess one of them has failed again sadly 😳.
So 195 it is to Hawarden Bridge!
Made it to Corwen where it was a quick change of buses! Arrived on the T10 and am now on the T3 which will take me to Wrexham!
Thankfully Corwen bus station has some of the cleanest public toilets I’ve seen! The bladder is thankful!
Time to say farewell to Betsy and head to Corwen!
Leg room dreams are made of on this bus 😍. Although 10 mins in I’m regressing it decision to have more than 1 pint at the pub 😬😬.
