When Jim Courier was seen reading a novel (about a 2.5' tall actress playing an ET like alien) during changeovers at a big match in '93, his coaches were concerned. Jean-Luc Godard wasn't: "How could anyone blame him? We should have all signed a petition to support his action."
What do I do about the fact that I’m signed in on the Apple TV @criterionchannl app, but it keeps asking me to sign in when I try to watch something, which then triggers a login request for my Apple ID. Who knows! FACE ID MY ASS

Nobody cares about a dead hooker
Looking like one, standing for many
Life finds a limit at the edge of our bodies
A stranger begins wherever I see 'em
The most amazing phenomenon I’ve ever come across, at total random, in France 2011 for the first time, on late-night TV. They’re uniformly hot minxes, not actresses (by any name at least). I filmed excerpts on my phone as proof. Reading Zola on successive nights front to back.

Godard, 1963. True then, true now! "What was good about American cinema is that it was spontaneous, at whatever level; now it's become calculated. The American character is not that well suited to calculation."

If you wish there were a better place to share your writing, to discover new work, to talk culture and books, then I invite you to read—and to join me.

OUT 1, particularly this scene in the final episode, where it becomes clear, or clearer, that what we've been watching is a horror movie.

Mounting mileage on the dash
Double darkness falling fast
I keep stressing, pressing on
Way deep down at some substratum
Feels like something really wrong has happened
And I confess I'm barely hanging on
