Huge thanks to Sir Graham Brady, former Chair of the 1922 Committee for standing with the 3.8 million #ExcludedUK on Budget day. We await justice @andyburnham, Now as @UKLabour PM, where is the restitution, as all we hear now is RADIO SILENCE? @ExcludedUK @Conservatives @LibDems
πŸ“’ #IsItOK to campaign alongside 3.8 million excluded UK taxpayers for over SIX YEARS, promise them justice, then fall silent when you become Prime Minister? @andyburnham, we are still waiting for answers. #IsItOK that another #ExcludedUK member was made homeless last Friday... the fourth house last in the last SIX weeks!!! We thought you were trying to end homelessness?!?!!! For well over six years, Andy Burnham was one of the most vocal and passionate political supporters of #ExcludedUK, campaigning WITH us for the millions of hardworking UK taxpayers who were wholly or partially excluded from meaningful Covid-19 financial support. These included freelancers, the self-employed, small business owners, company directors and thousands of people, including those working in the TV and film industries, many of whom saw their livelihoods disappear overnight. Andy did not simply offer a few words of sympathy. He actively campaigned alongside us, co-hosting several events with Jennifer Griffiths, Head of ExcludedUK, speaking directly to our members, listening to their devastating experiences and repeatedly pledging his support. πŸŽ₯ WATCH THE ATTACHED VIDEO In this recording, Andy Burnham promises to pursue financial remedy AND a public apology for those so appallingly let down. He knew the human cost of exclusion. He knew that at least 40 people had taken their own lives, with their deaths reported to ExcludedUK in connection with the devastating consequences of being denied support. He has described the exclusion as "indefensible" and said a solution was "fair, proportionate and doable". Yet since becoming Prime Minister, the man who stood beside us for well over six years appears to have fallen silent. πŸ“© Our emails and messages to Andy Burnham have gone unanswered. πŸ“© Our correspondence to Chancellor @JohnHealey_MP has also failed to secure the answers and action we have been seeking. πŸ’” Families are still grieving. Lives and livelihoods remain shattered. People are still living with the financial and psychological consequences of decisions made more than six years ago. Attemtped suicides are still a regular occurence! Not even the promised apology has materialised. πŸ’₯ An apology costs NOTHING! No Treasury funding. No Budget allocation. No complicated financial calculations. An apology is FREE, and that is something we can ALL afford! So, Andy, we ask you: ❓ #IsItOK to promise hope to millions of people and then leave them waiting when you finally have the power to deliver? ❓ #IsItOK to acknowledge the devastating human cost of exclusion but still fail to provide even a public apology? ❓ #IsItOK for those who dutifully paid into the system, but were deliberately left out, to still be fighting for justice more than SIX YEARS later? Andy, you stood with us when you were campaigning. We need you to stand with us now that you are in power. 3.8 MILLION PEOPLE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN. We are not going away. #ExcludedUK #IsItOK #TheLastLeg #AndyBurnham #JohnHealey #Channel4 #AdamHills #JoshWiddicombe #AlexBrooker #TVandFilm #Freelancers #SelfEmployed #Covid19 #CovidSupport #ExcludedFighter #WeAreNotGoingAway #Relentless

@andyburnham stood with @ExcludedUK, joined live calls and promised to fight for restitution until the bitter end. Now all we hear is silence. After our #Budget video van, ask him: when will he honour that promise to 3.8 million #ExcludedUK @UKLabour @LibDems @theSNP @GMB @PA
Dermot Keating, "Were you invited to any COBR meetings in the lead up to lockdown 1?" Andy Burnham, "No" DK, "DId you ask to attend the COBR meetings?" AB, "Repeatedly.. I have a memory of chairing a weekly meeting during swine flu where the Cabinet office you could bring in voices from all over the country. It was the way covid COBR meetings should have been done" DK, "What benefit would attending COBR have given you?" AB, "A structured environment where serious issues could have been properly raised. For example an issue we raised right though and never got a response: financial support for people on the lowest incomes to isolate. We repeatedly raised that issue. Also people excluded from public support: the self employed, the freelancers. We raised these in the media because we had no alternative" @AndyBurnhamGM #CovidInquiry

Family-run businesses etc are STILL paying the price of being #ExcludedUK in COVID: years of lost income, livelihoods and hardship. Join Sir Graham Brady demanding justice for yours in #Witham and millions more let down by @andyburnham, despite years of pledging financial redress
🚨 ANDY BURNHAM, PLEASE REMEMBER THE PROMISES YOU MADE TO EXCLUDEDUK! 🚨 Six and a half years. 3.8 million taxpayers. Countless promises. Still no justice. Prime Minister Andy Burnham, this video is a reminder of the commitments you have made to ExcludedUK and the millions of taxpayers who were denied parity of Covid-19 financial support. You have been one of our loudest and most consistent political champions since the beginning of our campaign. You have listened to our stories, spoken at our events, stood alongside our members and repeatedly acknowledged the devastating injustice we have suffered. You even co-hosted several events with our Head of ExcludedUK, Jennifer Griffiths, including the livestream in June 2024, when you told us: πŸ—£οΈ β€œThe public see you and the public support you.” πŸ—£οΈ β€œThe passage of time doesn’t change that.” πŸ—£οΈ β€œThe level of injustice that you have faced is indefensible.” πŸ—£οΈ β€œWe will work with you to make sure that the excluded is recognised as one of the injustices that this country needs to rectify.” You also spoke about financial remedies that could be β€œfair, proportionate and doable.” Those words gave people hope, Andy. Real hope. For some of our members, that hope was the very thing that kept them going when everything else seemed lost. But the years have passed. Businesses have disappeared. Homes have been lost. Families have been torn apart. Tragically, we know of more than 40 people who died by suicide, with exclusion contributing to the devastating circumstances they faced. We cannot bring those people back. But we CAN honour their memories by ensuring that this injustice is finally acknowledged and addressed. Today, you are no longer campaigning from outside Westminster. You are the Prime Minister. We understand that financial redress requires careful consideration, political will and public money. But an apology costs NOTHING. Not a penny. Yet even that basic acknowledgement of what happened to 3.8 million hardworking, taxpaying people has still not been forthcoming. We are asking you to honour your commitments: βœ… Deliver a full and frank public apology βœ… Meet with ExcludedUK, our APPG and representatives of the bereaved families and those who survived suicide attempts βœ… Work with us towards a fair, proportionate and achievable financial remedy βœ… Recognise the devastating and continuing consequences of exclusion Andy, you once told us that the passage of time does not change the injustice. We agree. We haven't forgotten your words, and we haven't given up on you. Please don't give up on us. πŸŽ₯ WATCH THE VIDEO. LISTEN TO YOUR OWN WORDS. REMEMBER THE PEOPLE YOU PROMISED TO HELP. youtu.be/Yjm6ag4m1xI Dutifully paid in. Absolutely it is. They should claw the money back from any assets and give it to those millions who were #Excluded from any financial support, deliberately by @RishiSunak Give it to @ExcludedUK @ForgottenLtd @ExcludedFighter etc. A total scam it was!
And around Β£1bn of the Β£1.7bn spent on PPE from VIP suppliers was wasted on supplies later deemed unfit to use. This is a huge scandal.
