Good thing the monetary authorities can step in and freeze all the assets, Satoshi must be so proud.

that feeling when you catch your kid reading a book way out of their depth and you tiptoe away so you don't spook them and ruin it

I guess this explains why I grew up raving and why I’ve been listening to @friskyradio for 10 hours a day for 25 years.

3. Feed the dopamine drop with rhythm or movement Music with a strong beat activates the ADHD dopamine system more reliably than almost any other input. The second you see the boredom-poking start, turn on an upbeat playlist or toss them a ball to catch before the restlessness turns into a brawl.4/6

Humans should still absolutely review software. But the way they should do it is by simply having a conversation with the LLM about the software. We are social apes, and our brains are terrible at reasoning in math/code. The native protocol of the human mind is natural language Modern LLMs are much *much* less likely to make a mistake “uplifting” code to/from language, than a human is directly“lowering” its semantic reasoning into code. The age of humans directly working with math or code, even to “review” it, is largely over. Your job is to reason and communicate in the substrate your mind was evolved for: natural language.
Opus 5.5 is writing way better code than humans, as long as you give it the right direction and context. PR reviews are now mainly about reviewing the high-level architecture and direction. You hardly even need to glance at individual lines of code anymore

I know this is a joke, but more people should do 2nd-order thinking at this age. “When will my ideal mate be looking for theirs, and where/how?” “What age would I like to be when my kids are in college?” “What would someone who will have had what I want to have be doing now?”
If you’re 24-27, you’re at the peak. Slay and take no prisoners. Please don’t focus on career and long term partnerships. Focus on what truly matters: substance abuse and having fun.

🛑 Trump waives multiple Russia sanctions and tariffs under Graham Act 🛑 The White House on the 16th issued an executive order in which President Trump invoked a presidential waiver under the 2026 Lindsey Graham Russia and Iran Sanctions Act to defer multiple sanctions, restrictions and tariffs targeting Russia. The waiver suspends a planned 500% tariff on Russian imports and a 100% tariff on countries that are major importers of Russian energy or that aid evasion of oil sanctions. It also delays measures aimed at the Russian central bank, major commercial banks, state-owned enterprises, government officials, and restrictions on Russian investment, energy trade, sovereign-debt purchases and related financial transactions. The Act was signed into law on Sept. 18 and required many measures to take effect within 30 days; the waiver postpones their implementation but does not repeal the law. Sanctions imposed under other statutes and executive orders remain in force.

Nobody thinks this
programmers hear that cpus have "microcode" and imagine it to be some kind of lower secret instruction set that the mean cpu designers forbid them from accessing but tbh it's not like this at all, microcode kind of isn't even turing complete

President Donald J. Trump posted minutes ago that he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize despite his numerous accomplishments. He listed settling eight wars, returning all Israeli hostages including the final 28, securing the release of hundreds of other hostages, winning a war in Venezuela and capturing Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro, and stopping Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. The post comes a day after the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the 2026 Peace Prize to Navi Pillay, the South African jurist and former UN human rights chief, “for her efforts to promote peace and international law.” The committee said the award is meant to remind the world that peace requires the rule of law. Trump has long said he deserves the prize. Last year’s winner, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, gave Trump her medal after the U.S. ousted Venezuela’s leader.

If you choose not to find wonder in the AI, you will have less wonder in your life, but still the same amount of AI.

This is the MoviePass era of consumer AI, enjoy it while it lasts!
Monthly subs are still heavily subsidized. Take a moment and think through (yourself, don't use fucking AI) what this means. Why do subsidies exist? Are higher subsidies good or bad in a severely supply-limited market? Would ARR have grown at same rate without subsidies?

tfw when you are watching a movie like Superman and it feels vaguely familiar, which means you probably half-watched on a flight, but you’re not sure if you finished it and you don’t remember what happens

In a way, low oil prices but high refined prices is the best thing for the environment?
One liner: Prices of diesel and gasoline at the gas station will not necessarily track headline crude prices nowadays because the units that make them have serious production issues globally. #oott
