FINALLY! The diesel deal that appeared designed to stop Ukraine from striking Russian oil refineries — potentially saving Putin's economy from paralysis or even collapse — is beginning to unravel.
Members of Congress and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have dealt a serious blow to what looks increasingly like a dangerous convergence of interests between Trump and Putin. The Novokuybyshevsk refinery is burning, while a tanker carrying Russian diesel reportedly hesitates to enter New York's ports.
When Ukraine suspended its attacks on Russian refineries, I kept remembering the words of French writer Jean de La Bruyère:
"Some pretend to be fools deliberately, while others genuinely believe they are accomplishing something."
I'll leave you to decide who belongs in which category.
Let me repeat: in early October, Putin may have been just weeks away from a devastating economic crisis. But once again, Trump appeared to throw him a lifeline.
The pressure on Russia's diesel production — one of the foundations of the Kremlin's economic and military strength — was significantly reduced.
How did this happen?
First, the controversial Russian diesel arrangement. Presented as an effort to stabilize fuel prices, it raised serious questions about whether Washington was effectively helping Moscow protect one of its most important industries.
Second, pressure on Ukraine. Trump's policies and Musk's influence over Starlink have raised troubling questions about Ukraine's access to military communications, intelligence, and Patriot missiles.
Third, diplomatic promises. Ceasefire negotiations and political incentives encouraged Ukraine to exercise restraint precisely when its attacks were inflicting serious damage on Russia's energy infrastructure.
And what did Russia do in return?
Absolutely nothing resembling restraint.
Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, power stations, and civilian infrastructure continued. The Kremlin gained breathing room while Ukraine paid the price.
Eventually, Ukraine struck back.
But how much time did we lose?
In my assessment, approximately three months.
At the beginning of October, I believed that another three weeks of sustained strikes involving roughly 100 long-range drones daily could have pushed Russia's refining sector toward a critical breaking point.
Now, achieving comparable economic damage could take months.
And these are not merely lost weeks. They mean additional time for Putin to repair infrastructure, rebuild supply chains, accumulate resources, and continue his invasion.
For Ukraine, that means more destroyed homes, more dead civilians, and more families burying their loved ones.
Americans and Europeans need to ask some uncomfortable questions.
Who benefits when Ukraine is pressured to stop attacking Russian oil infrastructure? Who gains financially and politically? And who ultimately pays the price?
There is another dangerous dimension: Iran.
A major military escalation involving Iran could send global oil and diesel prices soaring while accelerating the depletion of American weapons stockpiles, especially Patriot interceptor missiles that Ukraine desperately needs.
Russia could benefit from higher energy revenues while Europe faces greater economic pressure and Ukraine loses access to critical defensive weapons.
Whether these developments reflect deliberate coordination or overlapping interests, they deserve serious investigation.
We cannot afford silence.
Journalists must investigate. Congress must demand answers. European governments must examine the consequences. And the public deserves to know whether policies presented as peace initiatives are actually giving Putin more time and resources to wage war.
The distance between making concessions to an aggressor and effectively betraying those resisting aggression can be dangerously short.
Cockroaches hate the light.
Their dirty dealings depend on darkness and secrecy.
Our responsibility is simple.
Turn on the lights.

Just terror. Footage of yesterday’s russian Shahed attack on a residential area in Pavlohrad.
This is the reality Ukrainians live with. 24/7.
While some appease the terrorist state, others are afraid to stand up to it.
And Ukrainians are paying for it with their lives.

Willow is an older whippet around 9yrs & 13kg from China.
She was rescued from the meat trade via @CandyCaneRescue who asked us to help as she has a few health issues and that could not be fixed in China.
Willow is extremely loving and sweet 🥰
So far she’s had a CT scan, x ray, blood tests and her eyes checked.
She had an old break in the leg, nothing to be done.
She’s going blind. Will see eye specialist next.
The CT scan was not entirely conclusive regarding the lump on nose but we are waiting to hear more but looks like a vascular malformation.
Willow needs a loving quiet home. She’s had a rubbish life… let’s share and change that 🙏🏻❤️
Of course any adopter will be supported with any vets bills going forward.
Plz share Willow 🙏🏻❤️

🚨 BREAKING: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent dismissed questions about the Trump administration paying $496 MILLION for a shuttered Minnesota prison that private contractor CoreCivic had previously offered the state for just $75 MILLION, a staggering $420 million difference. Asked to explain the purchase amid the administration’s crackdown on government waste and fraud, Bessent responded: “I don’t know anything about that. That’s a waste of our time.”

Look at this happy morning again… and this time, notice the beds. ❤️🐾
Right now, the weather is still kind to them. They can race around outside, stretch out on the ground or curl up in a tyre bed.
But this picture will change very soon.
As winter deepens, the ground becomes bitterly cold — and just as we need warm rooms, duvets and heating, they need protection from that cold too.
We have 150 tyre beds so far, but hundreds of dogs.
I don’t want to wait for freezing nights before realising we don’t have enough.
Please help us prepare now, so when winter truly arrives, there is a warm bed waiting for every one of these happy faces. ❤️
Good morning from some of the happiest dogs in the world. ☀️🐾❤️
There is something magical about mornings at our sanctuary.
The sun begins to rise, that beautiful golden light falls across their faces… and then they hear it.
The team has arrived.
Suddenly, everyone is awake. Tails are flying, paws are dancing, breakfast is coming, their people are here — and another safe day is beginning.
For those few minutes, you would never know how much some of these dogs have suffered.
They are simply happy.
Safe. Fed. Loved. And ridiculously excited to start another day. ❤️
And there is only one reason they get to wake up feeling this way:
YOU.
The people who donate. The people who share. The people who keep showing up for animals they may never even meet.
You turned survival into mornings like these.
Good morning from your very happy TAWF family. ☀️🐾

Ukraine attacked the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery in the Samara region.
After russia’s brutal and barbaric attacks that killed dozens of civilians, including children, Ukraine ignored Trump’s demands to stop bombing russian oil refineries and struck the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery.
The Novokuybyshevsk refinery is the largest oil-processing facility among Rosneft’s Samara group of refineries. Its design capacity exceeds 8.8 million tons of oil per year. The refinery produces high-quality RT-grade jet fuel intended for aircraft such as the Su-27 and Tu-22M3. Russia regularly uses these aircraft to carry out strikes against Ukraine.

❗️Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) visited the site of a nighttime Russian attack in Kyiv where a civilian was killed. He noted that the world has grown accustomed to the war, yet attacks continue and civilians, as always, are the victims. The actor arrived for a week as part of his work with the UNDP to collect people’s stories and remind donors of the need to support Ukraine, especially ahead of winter. The day before, he spent the night in a Kyiv metro shelter.

LOOK AT THEM. Every one of these babies has lost their mother. 💔
They came to us from different places, from different mothers — all within just two days. Their mothers were killed, and these little ones were left behind.
They should be sleeping against their mothers tonight. Instead, they are orphans in our arms.
Please help us feed, care for and keep them warm. Winter nights are already bitterly cold, and we urgently need to finish our winter preparations.
At the same time, it is month-end. Feed, medicines, wages and bills are waiting to be paid. We desperately need your support to keep caring for them and hundreds of others already depending on us.
And please — RAISE YOUR VOICE. If you are outside Pakistan, your voice matters enormously. Speak against the killing of street animals. Share their stories. Make noise for them.
Please be their voice. 💔

👧 The Ukrainian girl for the first time in many years went out onto the streets of the city of Kherson. She shows the city. Earlier to go out was impossible, because the Russians hunted with FPV drones the people, the passenger transports and even aimedly struck the children who were playing. At the time of the stoppage of the fire in Oleshky, which is near Kherson, the streets of the city came alive.

Adela and daughter Sofia are now home!
Adela was locked away at the Dilley Trailer Prison four weeks after giving birth to her son. Parents know the first few weeks with a newborn are so precious and important. ICE took them away from her. Sofia too suffered from being locked away and torn apart from her siblings, dad, school, and life.
I am grateful they are now home and reunited with their family. Yet a postpartum mother and her little girl should never have been imprisoned in the first place. Thank you to everyone who spoke out. We will not stop until we shut down Dilley and end family detention.
