As a Genkai holder, I wanted to bring my NFTs to life—so I started building a 3-character tag-team action game in The Sandbox Studio! 🦍⚔️ Still a work in progress, but here’s a peek. What do you think? Would you play? 👀 @TheSandboxGame @CyberKongz #Genkai #OOH @borgetsebastien @myoo_ck @TSBCreators

Bucket Slider: purple sand in sight, an empty bucket below. We sent purple first: 0%. Mint filled and cleared, taking the board to 4%, while purple stayed empty. Check the bottom edge before choosing a color. Next test: clear a path to purple. #PuzzleGame

PVPPING paddle battle: both result screens show 6,400 points. One ends with no player cores left; the other ends with four. Break five enemy cores and protect your own. Two actual Stage 01 attempts from our current build. #PVPPING #IndieGame

Sandbox Studio is currently amongst the leaders of the emerging field of AI-driven game dev environments, and I think the reason is that we wanted to keep it as open as possible from the start. You can use @claudeai Cowork or @MeshyAI or @Replit or whatever tools you're used to, and just connect them to @TheSandboxGame Studio to organise everything. Thanks to @alexleewastaken for the thoughtful chat. gamesbeat.com/ugc-platforms-…

Higher altitude, lower score. Two real Magnetic Sling runs: 13 LY / 14 links / 12,429 points, then 15 LY / 9 links / 7,012 points. The second ended in a planet-core collision. Next test: prioritize links over altitude. #MagneticSling

100m looks close... until the next wall jump. CANISTY RUNS 01: a quick height challenge in Canisty Up, our game in The Sandbox Studio. Actual gameplay from the current build. Would you tap now or wait for the next bounce? #CanistyUp #IndieGame

When I was writing Unreal Engine 1, my time was divided as follows: - Around 30% went to seriously deep coding on hard problems: assembly language texture mappers, C++ BSP trees, data persistence, object oriented systems design, and networking. - Around 70% was just typing and refactoring large bodies of code needed for a complete engine feature set. This was not hard, and while I was doing it my mind was mostly on the deeper coding topics, thinking and planning for what's next. It didn't feel much different from vibe coding today, except that it was just me typing code on an IBM Model M keyboard rather than prompting it and reviewing the results. So, it has always seemed perfectly logical that we would rely on AI for that 70%, once the AI could do it with a similar quality standard as we could, which has never been perfection. It came as no surprise that, after a few years of AI model evolution, it was able to take the reigns on that 70% and free up programmers' time for more valuable tasks. What's more of a surprise is the emergence of AI as a sort of insta-Carmack able to solve hard technical problems quite cleverly and often cleanly, and that it's able to reason about and work in complex 3D scenes both by operating the tools and by directly understanding the raw data files. I abandoned assembly language in 1998 when out-of-order CPUs made much simpler C/C++ code faster, and never I missed it. If prompting through architectural documents, concept art, and design plans can transcend typing code and tweaking vertices, that will enable developers to spend their time on higher-level, higher value technical and creative tasks. What matters is the end product, whether it's a game or an engine. Anything developers can do to try out more ideas and make better software and games faster is a win for everyone.

The games we've long wanted, which didn't exist because they'd cost several times more to make than they'd earn back, will soon become possible. As will the games developers wanted to build, but couldn't with the resources available. It'll be a new golden age of gaming.

More great work from @RicardoDeZoete. The best thing about @TheSandboxGame Studio is that you can bring your own tools, like Argon, and bring your creations to life in little or no time.
Real @threejs demo, baby. (Made in @TheSandboxGame Studio within 30 mins using @GoogleDeepMind Argon) 😅 Play it here: studio.sandbox.game/play/2a4… (also includes the presentation demo, but then.. in-game).

I couldn't agree more. This is exactly why @TheSandboxGame has been building Sandbox Studio (launching later this month), and you can check out the project here: nitter.cf/TheSandboxGame/status/…
