From personal experience, I fell into the trap of hating certain genres and gatekeeping out of pride and ego for a while. Eventually the whole maximalist production mindset burned me out pretty badly. But really, make whatever you want to make. Let your art be an expression of your life, not something that becomes bigger than life itself.
