Every Islamic app on your phone knows something about you. Where you stopped reading. Which prayers you missed. What you've been making dua for. None of them talk to each other.
You build something for positive change. Then everything you depend on to grow pulls you somewhere else. App stores reward downloads. Feeds reward attention. Ad networks reward clicks. None of them care what your users came for.
So slowly we start playing by the algorithm's rules. More notifications. More streaks. More screen time. And the app we built to bring people closer to Allah ends up fighting for the same attention as everything else. That's the loop.
Someone on my last post said we need to move from Islamic content to Islamic outcomes. I can't stop thinking about it.
Then we count downloads as if that means something changed in someone's life. A million installs doesn't tell you whether one person prayed on time because of it.
Every other developer I meet wants to build an Islamic app. A Quran app, a tasbeeh counter, prayer times.
Almost always for the same reason: sadaqah jariyah. Build it once, and it keeps counting for you after you're gone.
A beautiful intention. But look at what it's produced.
The question I can't get past: if a thousand people each build their own Quran app for sadaqah jariyah, is that a thousand good deeds, or a thousand people not building the one thing that was actually missing?
Thank you so much sir and always keep inspiring and guiding us @jayesh_ranjan
