Strong editorial. From the device side, family-medicine POCUS lives or dies on fitting a short visit: fast boot, exam-specific presets, and depth, focus, and gain defaults that hold up across body habitus, so the minutes go to the clinical question, not the knobs.
Although POCUS training is now required in family medicine residencies, there remains a lack of standardized, replicable strategies for implementation. The inpatient service offers excellent opportunities for POCUS training.
