Trump’s claim that the Kennedy Center he’s now threatening to demolish was losing “hundreds of billions” of dollars before he “got involved” is a blatant lie.
The Kennedy Center never lost “hundreds of billions.” Its annual revenue runs a few hundred million at most; net assets were in the mid-to-high hundreds of millions before the 2025 takeover. Tax filings show no such cumulative hole. The documented plunge in tickets and donations happened after Trump seized the board and tried to put his name on the building—not before.
