ALT Sometimes my mind feels like a garden, and I can no longer tell which parts I grew myself and which came from other people’s thoughts and stares. The flowers have eyes, as if even the things meant to be beautiful are watching me. And that hand is mine, trying to cut back and prune the endless thoughts growing inside me, even the ones that look beautiful.

ALT Sometimes our worries and thoughts spin around in our minds for so long that, like yellow leaves, they become heavy. Thoughts that carry nothing but weight, until there’s no room left for them on the branches. Sometimes, all it takes is an autumn breeze to let them gently fall. We, too, need to learn to let some thoughts go so our minds can breathe again, and make room for something new and green to grow.
