In letters sent Friday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., asked the Federal Reserve, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to rescind those policy changes, which limit the ability of bank examiners to deliver supervisory warnings and pursue certain enforcement actions. The Fed’s Updated Statement of Supervisory Operating Principles, published last month, said that supervisory staff can only issue enforcement actions to financial institutions based on “unsafe or unsound” practices if they believe those practices “create an abnormal probability of abnormal harm to the financial condition of the banking organization.” scoopmedia.co/4e4v51x

The two sets of documents were obtained by Democracy Forward, which has frequently challenged the Trump administration in federal court, and provide NSF communications involving DOGE affiliate Zachary Terrell from April and May of 2025. USAi may no longer be free, but a General Services Administration official has a pitch for agencies on the fence about adoption: GSA will save you months in acquisition time and handle the “boring” stuff. Launched in August 2025 as a no-cost tool for federal agencies to experiment with AI models, USAi pricing was introduced last month. Per the GSA’s website, agencies will now pay a “platform fee plus passthrough usage costs” for USAi. scoopmedia.co/3URyomc

DualChem is the first benchmark developed under a partnership between Scale and the recently renamed Center for Advancing Innovation and Standards for Super Intelligence (CAISSI) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The benchmark — essentially a standardized test for AI — looks to provide a way to measure how much AI models assist a human user in chemistry scenarios and, with respect to potentially harmful outputs, where current safeguards are lacking. scoopmedia.co/3WTnPiZ
