“All up the autumn hillsides, And down the valley ways, And by the singing rivers, The jewels of autumn blaze… …With lapis, sard, and jasper, With amethyst and jade, The trees and shrubs and vinings Of autumn are arrayed.” — ‘Autumn Jewels’ by Wilhelmina Seegmiller (1866–1913).

Our first Old Dogs Basketball tournament held in Bath today. Teams from Bristol Swindon and Bath took part. Winner were Bath but all games were very close. Played in fantastic spirit of fun with a competitive edge.

Almost 90% of England's water companies are still acting illegally, still dumping huge amounts of sewage into our environment. “People are sick of excuses,” screams Dame Angela Eagle. We've heard it all before and yet nothing, nothing changes. One interesting note "The UK is one of only two countries in the world where the provision of water is fully privatised. The other is Chile, where water privatisation was imposed in the 1980s by a military dictatorship." Hmm? 🤔 theguardian.com/business/202…

I've been speaking to boaters trapped on the canal in #Bath Many river-dwellers are heading onto the K&A to avoid the Avon's winter floods, but a closed tunnel means they are all crowding onto a single mile of canal 'I’m just glad to get a place' one boater told me #LDReporter
