Another gem by @MaliniDevadas : instead of reading yet another book about the thing you can't bring yourself to do (marketing!) acknowledge your feelings about it then re-frame it in your own head. It's not about you, it's about your clients

I had edited a problematic sentence and explained why, but the author requested that I stet it, so of course I did. This is why, when you’re reading a book, you should never throw up your hands in disgust and sneer “How could an editor have let this go?!” #AmEditing

Foreshadowing is crucial to all major plot twists or big reveals. Leave hints for your readers to pick up. They should say, "Oh, that makes sense" or "I should have seen that" and not "Wait, that came from nowhere." #WritingCommunity #writetip #AmEditing

Editors: a tricky typo you might want to watch for is "clock"/"cock". I've just caught one and I'm SO relieved. Otherwise the heroine would have been pressing herself against a "jean-clad clock" 😂
