Under a new agreement with Covestro and MB Energy, Fertiglobe will assess the commercial, technical and logistical requirements for supplying ammonia via Hamburg - including terminal capacity, volumes, delivery arrangements and onward transportation to industrial customers. Beyond the terminal, the parties will evaluate enabling infrastructure and logistics, including pipelines, barges and rail transportation, alongside the ammonia supply - weighing conventional, lower-carbon and renewable options against carbon intensity and regulatory frameworks such as the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Today, Fertiglobe has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Covestro and MB Energy to explore ammonia supply into Germany and Europe via a proposed import terminal at Blumensand, Hamburg. The collaboration brings together Fertiglobe’s global ammonia production and supply capabilities, MB Energy’s energy infrastructure and logistics expertise, and Covestro’s position as a major industrial consumer of ammonia in Germany. Fertiglobe was pleased to welcome H.E. Eng. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, and H.E. Major General Hany Rashad, Governor of Suez, to our Egyptian Fertilizers Company (EFC) facility in Ain Sokhna, Egypt. Welcomed by Narayanan Valayaputtur, CEO of EFC and EBIC, they toured the site’s ammonia and urea production facilities, water treatment units, storage facilities, control rooms, and bulk loading and packing center, gaining an overview of the technologies and operational processes across the site. The visit also highlighted EFC’s strong track record in safe and efficient operations, including its top-quartile performance, as well as the site’s continued focus on improving operational efficiency and sustainability. Fertiglobe is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Shook as Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 October 2026. Daniel brings more than 30 years of international finance leadership experience across chemicals, industrial gases and industrial manufacturing, most recently as CFO of IMI plc, a FTSE 100 engineering company. Daniel succeeds Andrew Tait, who is stepping down after seven years with Fertiglobe. During his tenure, Andrew played an important role in Fertiglobe’s growth and evolution as a listed company, including supporting its successful IPO, strengthening its financial position and advancing key strategic initiatives.
