Frontline Freelance Register

I'm excited to see where @ffregister goes next and I'll certainly remain a keen supporter/cheerleader/spare hand on deck...

Unique in its mandate to represent freelancers who face risk in their work, please read the thread above and see how you can engage with @ffregister, as a fellow freelancer, as a staffer in the industry or as a consumer of news (so all of you, then?).

It's been a pleasure to serve on the board of @ffregister for the past two years, even if the pandemic & other challenges curtailed some of our ambitions. I'm delighted to celebrate the incoming board, who bring amazing experience/capabilities and are ably led by @hysperbole.

My ability to work independently for much of my career as a journalist remains very important to me and I deeply admire so many colleagues who choose the same (tricky) path. We all need to support and advocate for independent journalists who do vital, often very unique work.

"Behind the Headlines" from @HeadlinesNet features great interviews on how journalists manage their mental health and why journalism matters. Insightful thoughts from @lindseyhilsum & @bbclysedoucet, and @marklittlenews. Will def check out more episodes: audioboom.com/channels/50719…
