Biosecurity is one of the most urgent challenges for the AI era. Bringing SynthID to biology so AI-generated proteins can be watermarked is a critical step - and we’re open sourcing SynthID Bio tools so the research community can build on this work. Published in @Nature today, congrats to the team! nature.com/articles/s41586-0…
Very happy to announce that our team @GoogleDeepmind has pushed the boundaries of generative biology, achieving the successful synthesis of AI-designed proteins that are both functional and watermarked.
This proof-of-concept watermarking of the building blocks of life is enabled by SynthID Bio, our new protein watermarking method. It is designed to safeguard the new era of AI-powered generative biology and strengthen global biosecurity.
You can read my thoughts here on why watermarking AI-designed proteins is an important research breakthrough: nitter.cf/pushmeet/status/210531…
Trump sits down with Zuckerberg, OpenAI, and Nvidia to hash out AI's future

BREAKING: War Secretary Pete Hegseth has named @elonmusk to co-lead Project Meridian, a major new Pentagon effort to study and shape the future of warfare.
Hegseth called the three co-leaders some of America’s best minds.
Key details:
• Co-led by Elon Musk, Palmer Luckey and Newt Gingrich
• Led within the department by CTO Emil Michael
• Will bring together private-sector leaders and military experts
• Will map the future of wars, military domains and emerging technologies
• Will identify the areas America must lead and dominate
• Findings are expected within 120 days
• A full public rollout will follow
Elon has repeatedly solved engineering challenges others considered impossible. This is exactly where he belongs, working on the hardest problems with enormous national importance.
GPT-6.1 Sol from @OpenAI on ARC-AGI (Verified):
- ARC-AGI-3: 52.7%, $7.6K (standard harness), 96.4%, $4.4K (provider adapter harness)
- ARC-AGI-2: 94.2%, $0.25/task
- ARC-AGI-1: 98.5%, $0.06/task
Its 96.4% on v3 was comparable to GPT-6 Astra's 99.9% but at a 77% lower cost.

Lots of discussion out there about our next model(!), so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon!
It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback.
Here’s a look at the benchmarks:

🚨EXCLUSIVE: OpenAI is training a new model called GPT-Synopsys specifically for chip design.
It will learn to use Synopsys tools to go from circuit descriptions all the way to laying out billions of transistors, potentially cutting weeks or months from chip development.
OpenAI and Synopsys will then split revenue based on how much GPT-Synopsys improves customers’ chip designs.
The AI’s work will still be checked by conventional Synopsys software to “check the physics.”

🚨BREAKING: The FTC has opened a sweeping U.S. regulatory probe into ROGUE AI AGENTS and is preparing subpoena-like demands that could force executives at OpenAI, Anthropic and METR to TESTIFY.
>investigation began “a few weeks ago,” BEFORE the OpenAI/Hugging Face incident
>that incident reportedly increased the urgency
>FTC is probing potential unfair or deceptive practices under existing law
>formal civil investigative demands are expected in the coming weeks
>FTC is staffing up its Office of Technology for the probe
This is the first official U.S. regulatory action specifically delving into rogue AI agents.
Bob Clark has been building data centers since the 1980s and completed 16 of them last year. He has another 77 in the works across 13 states. Data center construction is expected to account for 75% of Clayco’s nearly $12 billion in 2026 revenue, helping boost revenue by 43% over 2025.
“I’ve been in the data center business for most of my career, but never would’ve imagined what’s happening today,” he said.
