Prestwick - I used to fly through twice a week - has a rail link and good road access and should help the West Coast economy soar. Instead it stagnates while Scots schlep to far-off Manchester. The SNP need to Shake, Rattle and Roll out a better strategy. dailymail.com/news/article-1…

800 ghost jobs. £27 million of YOUR money. That’s the frightening cost of the SNP’s no compulsory redundancy policy. We’d put an end to this waste and deliver value for money to taxpayers.

Why are MSPs learning through a BBC News report about the worst disorder in a Scottish prison for a decade, nearly five weeks after it happened? Around 30 inmates were involved in the Polmont riot. Prison officers were injured. Reinforcements were brought in from four other prisons. When did Justice Secretary @neilcgray know? Why did he not bring this before Parliament? When were members supposed to find out? Parliament should not have to rely on journalists to discover what is happening inside Scotland’s prisons. Treating parliamentary scrutiny as optional shows an appalling disrespect for Parliament and the democratic process. And the explanation for this riot needs proper scrutiny. What triggered it? Were warnings missed? Were officers adequately protected? Assertions about overcrowding do not remove the need to establish the facts or hold those responsible to account. Neil Gray owes Parliament a full explanation. This is nowhere near good enough. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwdd…

First Minister @JohnSwinney has told @fincarson that Gentex has agreed to open talks with @SoSEnterprise in an effort to save jobs in Stranraer. 111 roles are under threat at the helmet factory under plans to close the site as part of a restructure of UK operations.

Worrying news about possible job losses at helmet manufacturer Gentex in #Stranraer With a lengthy history in the town, stretching back to Kangol and TopTek, it’s long been a key employer. Many families will be deeply concerned tonight.

Hospitality is being hammered on two fronts by two parties who know nothing about business - the SNP and Labour.
Good to meet with Stephen Montgomery of @scothospgroup to discuss the upcoming Scottish Budget. Pubs are going to the wall at a record rate and the SNP must deliver rates relief to safeguard businesses and jobs.

This from @RealStephenKerr has restored a good deal of my faith in the possibilities of Holyrood. A calmly delivered forensic appraisal and scrutiny, of the very real concerns raised by @CalumA_Steele on an issue which goes to the heart of fairness and justice for police officers. Two tier justice is no justice at all.👏🏻
Replying to @RealStephenKerr
@RealStephenKerr outstanding and measured statement to @SP_Justice today in support of his motion to annul the Regs #endkangaroocourts

If Stephen Gethins was a serious person, he would just admit that the programme for government made a mistake in proposing *off-grid* pumped storage hydro. But he can only recite prepared lines. Pathetic.

The SNP have no respect for taxpayers.
Arrogant SNP are laughing at Scotland's taxpayers👇 800 civil servants whose jobs 'NO LONGER EXIST' are on the state payroll ... Because of the SNP 'no compulsory redundancy' rule.
