As you witness the collapse of the ANC in the #LGE2026 , remember, it couldn't have happened to a more deserving party:

This can't be a real. Calling ActionSA ASA is apparently disrespectful? Well take a guess as to what everyone will refer them to going forward. What a strange strange thing to have a hissy fit over.
The fact that you (and others) persistently refer to ActionSA as “ASA” is disrespectful at the most basic level. Your contempt for ActionSA is glaringly obvious. 🙄

Listening to Geordin Hill-Lewis on eNCA now. He tells parties to rise above their egos and personalities. To put the people of South Africa first. First leader who has actually said this. He anticipates an additional 200 DA councillors joining its ranks. The DA has received over 1 million votes from black South Africans. In Cape Town, Kouga and Umgeni the DA has secured solid majorities. The DA will be the biggest party in at least 4 metros. Manguang still close. He says that the party has already started the work to be the biggest party in 2029. He says they will approach coalition negotiations with other parties with deep respect for their results and humility. He appeals for parties to rise above politics and put residents first. Emphasizes the need foe humility. Says that cities must have a period of long and sustained progress. He invites parties who want to put South Africa first to speak to the DA. The DA has already informally reached out to various parties. Emphasizes that coalitions must fix broken municipalities. Create opportunities. Bring down poverty and inequality. He is explicit. He will not conduct coalition discussions via the media. That is bad faith. But all agreements will be published publicly.

Mr Flp-flopping @HermanMashaba received a mandate from his voters last time around based on his commitments that he made, and promptly turned his back on his voters and did the opposite. He's not trustworthy, and lacks integrity. A novice politician, with a lot to learn.
To @Our_DA and @Action4SA Understand something… The mandate from voters matters. If you form coalitions with those the electorate rejected out of spite or personal grievances, you will be the ones rejected in 2029. South Africans want service delivery, not power struggles.

There is no united opposition without the DA, fan of them or not. Refusing to go into a stable coalition with them means you'd rather have chaos, or keep the ANC in charge. But ASA has always been a revenge party by people blinded by hatred towards the DA. They don't actually care about the voters.
What amazes me is how everyone is advising ActionSA to work with the DA. These are the self same people who wrote us off, called us ASA. Now that we’ve broken the back of the ANC in their ANC strongholds they suddenly see our value to the DA who also belittled and maligned us. Perhaps they should be advising the DA to seriously consider approaching ActionSA to Fix Gauteng! @MarkSham @HermanMashaba @ME_Beaumont

I want to move to Cape town @geordinhl and help build a world class city, with bullet trains, public transport, smart city, net zero, ... But I might have missed the house prices escalation... Cape town going to be at another level in service delivery...

This narcissist is obsessed with the DA
This is very annoying. DA members think that they have a self-imposed superior thinking to determine the rights of others. They openly work with the ANC through a front door, including protecting their corrupt activities, but others must not work with the ANC. They are certainly antagonising some of us who are independent.

Will @HermanMashaba ever put his ego and personal grudges aside for the sake of the people of Johannesburg?
I see Herman still can't stop himself from going at the DA. He is extremely disgraceful and a one trick pony. BTW, will Action SA ever have an internal election.? Or is it Herman the leader for life?

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Geordin Hill-Lewis says the party is ready to work with other political parties to establish stable coalition governments following what he describes as a historic performance in the 2026 Local Government Elections. Addressing the media, Hill-Lewis said the election results presented the DA with an opportunity to turn around several municipalities and cities across the country. The DA says it will be the only party to govern a metropolitan municipality with an outright majority, following a strong victory in Cape Town. He says it has also emerged as the largest party in four other metros – Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Nelson Mandela Bay. The party expects to gain approximately 104 additional wards and 233 councillors nationally. Hill-Lewis also highlighted that roughly one million black South Africans voted for the DA, describing this as evidence of the party’s growing support across communities. He thanked voters for their support, saying the DA understood the responsibility that came with the mandate. COALITION TALKS Attention now turns to coalition negotiations, with the DA confirming that it has already started engaging other political parties to establish stable governments. Hill-Lewis said the party wants to bring parties together around a shared programme focused on effective service delivery and good governance. He identified key priorities as: Reliable water and basic services. Safer streets and communities. Job creation and an environment conducive to business growth. Zero tolerance for corruption. Merit-based appointments. Sound financial management. Stable and accountable local government. The DA says it is prepared to work with any political party willing to put residents first and commit to these principles. Hill-Lewis stressed that coalition agreements would be made public once finalised, although negotiations would not be conducted through the media. He said the DA’s immediate priority was to ensure that municipalities deliver meaningful improvements to residents’ lives. Hill-Lewis described the election as an important step towards the DA’s ambition of becoming South Africa’s largest political party. He said the party would use its growing support to strengthen its presence in communities and demonstrate that capable governance can improve people’s lives. He concluded by saying the DA was ready to work with other parties to build stable, inclusive and accountable governments.

What is telling of Action SA, is instead of thanking voters and committing to serving people, they have decided to attack their naysayers. Not appropriate for National Government.

Mr Flp-flopping @HermanMashaba is all about his egotistical manner! Here's hoping he sides with the @MYANC. It will be his one way ticket before 2029 national elections.
DA / Action SA could govern all metros together in Gauteng now and in 2029 could govern the province together very comfortably. The reckoning now is what do you aside, stability or ego?

Herman Mashaba needs to grow up and manage his emotions well. His tantrums everytime he hears the name Helen Zille is reducing his maturity. Some of us are tired of this nonsense. He is not the only one to have clashed with Helen. It happens a lot in politics.

A very anti-South African sentiment. That’s why South Africans don’t like politicians- it’s always about their ego or self gain; and never about what’s best for the folks on the ground.
