Publicly Funded Child Care (PFCC) can make a significant difference for Ohio families.
A family of three earning $54,640 a year could face nearly $24,500 a year in child care costs for an infant and preschooler. 💸
With PFCC, that family’s copayment would be about $87 per week, or $4,524 a year.
Without PFCC, child care would consume nearly 45% of the family’s annual income.

Believe it or not, there are things people agree on.
Key among them is supporting your elected officials and candidates to work across the aisle and provide relief from child care challenges.
Plenty to disagree on, let’s leave child care out of the fray and get something done.

It’s no secret how ridiculously expensive child care is in Nevada. Three out of four kids in our state do not have access to a licensed child care provider – that's unacceptable. Parents shouldn’t need to choose between having a full-time job or taking care of their kids.
I’m proud to introduce the bipartisan Child Care Modernization Act to address this crisis by helping child care providers expand their reach and allowing more families in our community to access the high-quality child care they need.

The lack of affordable, reliable child care – especially in rural communities – remains a huge issue for working families. It's why I introduced the Child Care Modernization Act to improve child care access and quality. I applaud my colleagues in the House for introducing a companion bill – a critical step toward getting this legislation signed into law.
Working families in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos deserve access to affordable, high-quality child care. The bipartisan legislation I introduced today will help to make that a reality.

Childcare remains one of the biggest household expenses for families in Iowa and across the country. After more than a decade without reauthorization, the federal government's primary childcare program simply isn't equipped to meet the needs of our families.
That’s why I helped introduce bipartisan legislation to expand access to affordable, quality childcare and ensure every working family can access quality, affordable childcare. This bill tackles barriers that make it harder to open and grow childcare facilities, creating more options for parents and strengthening our workforce. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and I'll keep fighting to make it easier to raise one.

Last week, Groundwork Ohio was on Capitol Hill for the First Five Federal-State Partnership Summit hosted by First Five Years Fund, advocating for Ohio’s youngest children and families.
Our team met with 10 Ohio congressional offices to discuss the importance of strong federal investments in early learning and child care programs that help children thrive and support working families across Ohio.
Congress is making important funding decisions right now about programs like Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) — and lawmakers need to hear from all of us.

Head Start programming provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, dental, mental health, social services and parent engagement opportunities for young children and families that might not otherwise have access.
