Sharing some big news: we’re spinning @gather_town out as an independent profitable business, and our AI team (myself included) will be joining @figma very soon! While Gather hasn’t become the venture-scale success we initially aimed for, I am proud of what we’ve built and I believe it is better suited to serve our customers going forward. I have the upmost confidence in @7Samsmith7 's ability to lead the team going forward, and he’s going to be accompanied by many well-tenured Gather team members. Most importantly, the team will be focused purely on making Gather the best version of itself, rather than trying to chase speculative, big-if-true bets. For myself and other members of Gather’s AI team. We’re excited to join Figma because their vision is very aligned with our own (make work closer to play), and I believe their mission represents the essence of AI optimism & human creativity. I’m also excited to work together with @zoink and many of the amazing Figmates we met throughout the process :) Read more here: gather.town/blog/new-chapter

Design & code, finally together on the canvas thanks to Code Layers → Turn a design layer into an interactive code layer → Capture what's live on your website as a code layer with Chrome Extension → Duplicate a code layer to explore multiple directions side by side → Drop your prototype into a code layer via Figma MCP

Btw, code artifacts are super underrated. The fact it can build interfaces on local sql db's the rest of muse agent has access to is crazy. I have my own personal crm, calendar, calorie tracking, etc... this should be marketed more!

over time more people will realize how archaic our current interfaces are for building software today we're excited to bring the power of coding agents to the canvas! this was incredibly controversial within figma at first, but as it's come to life we've developed raving fans
Together at last: design and code on the canvas Code Layers are here, now in open beta Live from Config India

Brent is one of the best things that happened to the quality and polish of the desktop app. Relentless improvements day after day.
Last week, I pushed a change to the ChatGPT desktop app that makes the loading of threads faster. Not just a little faster. A LOT faster. ✅ Long threads now load over 90% faster. ✅ Decreased the memory footprint of long threads by over 90%.

I built a little app to reminisce on Gather's 5 year journey, for our last offsite before the company split. It takes our Slack history + all-hands slides, and (using AI) turns them into a timeline of monthly, coffee-table-book-style articles. (1/x)

Excited to announce that @simpleailab has raised a $14M seed round led by @firstharmonic. For the past year, we’ve been building AI voice agents to transform direct-to-consumer sales. We fundamentally believe that voice AI is the future of all B2C calls.

I am so incredibly lucky to get to work with @gradypb . He's always shown up for us through the hardest times, and has continually raised our bar not because he demands it, but because you want to do right by his dedication to you. @sequoia is an amazing institution and the best partner for founders
1/ We @sequoia have always said that we’re only as good as our next investment. It’s also true that we’re only as good as our next generation @Alfred_Lin and I get to work with the best generation yet:

I’m excited today to share Grapevine, a system that makes it really easy for AI agents to search company knowledge across, Slack, Notion, codebase, and more. The first app we’re launching with it is a company GPT that works remarkably well, better than any alternative today.

Lastly: for the AI-native companies. We started down this path because we saw it as a prerequisite for all the interesting agents we wanted to build for ourselves. Expect additional launches on how to build on top of Grapevine, and a few cool applications of our own
