I posted a video of myself vibing to my song on Twitter, just to see if people would actually love my sound. An hour later, it had only 5 likes😭. Omo I won't lie e pain me o. I started thinking, “Do people even like my music like that?” I was already feeling discouraged wondering if I was just doing all this for nothing. At some point, I went on my knees in the kitchen and prayed, “God, please, just let people love my music.” Omo, not even 5 minutes later, I got a text from @folaby_ (God go bless you, bro. ❤️). He said, “How far, bro? I love your song. I want to make a visual for it.”
At first, I no believe am 😭 I genuinely thought it was a joke. I was waiting for the part where he would tell me how much it would cost, because omo, my account balance was not smiling at all😂. But this guy was dead serious He asked when we could shoot, and I said next week. He asked where I stayed so we could shoot around my area. He even asked if I needed a video vixen, and I said no 😭😂. I still wasn't fully convinced this thing was real.
Omo, this guy left Ikorodu on a SATURDAY and came all the way to Surulere just to shoot a music video for somebody he had never met before. Somebody he had never even spoken to before that day. And if you know me, you know how shy I am. Being in front of a camera, outside, with people watching me? Omo, I was TERRIFIED. But one thing kept ringing in my head: if someone who doesn't even know me can believe in my music enough to leave Ikorodu and come all the way here for me, who am I to let fear stop me?
It was honestly one of the scariest things I've ever done. And the craziest part? @folaby_ didn't just come to shoot the video. He brought out his OWN money to help me settle people so we could shoot in peace, because my money wasn't enough🥹❤️.
