It's shocking to see 'low-wage care workers' portrayed as a drain on the welfare state. They're doing essential jobs and the only reason they claim benefits is that the fat cat private equity bosses that own care homes don't pay them enough to live on.

There is one reason Hamas remains in Gaza: the Israeli government refuses to allow anyone to replace it. Talk of disarming Hamas without establishing a credible governing authority to take its place is meaningless. The Israeli government knows this leaves the way open for the destruction of Gaza to continue. To carry out its plan for ethnic cleansing, Israel needs Hamas to remain there—even if only nominally, without real power—because its continued presence provides a pretext to keep destroying Gaza and displacing Palestinians.
