Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar met with Dr. Syed Amir Ali, President and CEO of Meezan Bank, to discuss compliance with the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010, and the bank’s women-friendly workplace policies. #FOSPAH

A central bank’s commitment to workplace equality can set the standard for the entire financial sector. Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar met with the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Mr Jameel Ahmad, to advance safer, fairer workplaces across the banking sector.

Large financial institutions employ women across their branches, including outsourced and contract staff who may face gaps in workplace protection. Ms Fauzia Viqar met with HBL CHR Officer Mr Javed Nasir to discuss strengthening workplace harassment redressal.

Harassment in higher education institutions is a serious concern, as the academic setting involves hierarchies and dependencies that can leave complainants vulnerable. FOSPAH's awareness session at Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in collaboration with SHARP Women.

Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar delivered a lecture on Workplace Harassment & Human Rights to Probationary Officers of the Postal Group attending the 35th Specialized Training Program (STP) at the ECO Postal Staff College, Islamabad. #fospah

The IOI, the global network of Ombudsman institutions, held the first meeting of its AI Working Group. The meeting focused on developing a shared agenda among Ombudsman institutions on the potential and responsible use of AI, particularly in complaint filing, processing.

Fair and credible redressal of workplace harassment depends on how Inquiry Committees handle complaints. To strengthen this capacity, FOSPAH held a specialized training bringing together 15 participants from PEMRA, PPRA, Helping Hands for Humanity, Skill Gate, FW & Nayatel.

As women's participation in the workforce continues to grow, ensuring workplaces where dignity, equality, and respect prevail has become more important than ever. Ms. Fauzia Viqar, delivered a keynote address at a seminar organised by Faysal Bank Limited (Learning & Development).

FOSPAH and the GIZ-WE Project, partners under an MoU signed in June 2025. The partnership was celebrated at GIZ- GRM closing ceremonies in Lahore & Karachi, attended by Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar and FOSPAH Officials, alongside CARE international.
