Great job @DHSgov @FPSDHS Region 5 for their collaboration with @ATFChicago and @Chicago_Police. FPS was instrumental in the investigation that led to federal charges against a man accused of illegally possessing a loaded firearm outside a federal building in downtown Chicago.
The @DHSgov @FPSDHS Region 4 federal law enforcement officers were first on scene, secured the area, coordinated with law enforcement partners, and helped ensure the safety of federal employees, visitors, and the public.
This latest attack in Atlanta is part of a dangerous and unacceptable escalation of violence against the men and women of @ICEGov who are simply enforcing the laws of the United States.
Irresponsible rhetoric from sanctuary politicians and radical activists has contributed to a massive increase in violence and threats against federal law enforcement officers performing their Congressionally mandated duties. ICE officers are facing a more than 1,600% increase in assaults against them.
Assaults on our officers and facilities will not be tolerated. Anyone who targets federal law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

🚨 Edmund J. Horvath has been federally charged via criminal complaint with illegally possessing a loaded firearm outside Chicago’s Kluczynski Federal Building. The discharged rounds of ammunition caused both interior and exterior damage to the Federal Building as well as to surrounding infrastructure. Horvath was previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and thus federally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. Read more here: justice.gov/usao-ndil/pr/us-…
