🚨UPDATE: Diversified investment portfolios are expanding further into onchain markets. @Ondo has introduced seven tokenized portfolios on @solana, including three built around investment strategies developed by @BlackRock. The portfolios use smart contracts to manage asset allocation, fees and scheduled rebalancing, while allowing investors to verify holdings and portfolio weightings onchain. The launch follows the expansion of the same product lineup on @ethereum and @BNBCHAIN, where it has surpassed $45 million in total value locked, according to Ondo.

THE BINANCE HACK JUST SHOWED THE POWER OF NOT GIVING UP ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROL Binance got hacked, but Tether made a smart move by freezing USDT associated with the hacker’s addresses. Think about that for a moment. The hacker may successfully steal assets, but once Tether blacklists an address holding USDT, those USDT can effectively become unusable from that address. This is a power Tether has because USDT is centrally issued and its contracts retain administrative controls. And this is exactly why I've always said that renouncing a token contract isn't automatically a good thing. The same principle applies to Giant Token ($GTAN). Because we haven't renounced the contract and retain administrative controls, the contract has the ability to blacklist addresses and restrict blacklisted wallets from selling/transferring $GTAN, where the contract's blacklist functionality applies. Imagine someone exploits the ecosystem and steals a massive amount of $GTAN. Would you rather we sit there helplessly because the contract was renounced, or have the ability to blacklist the malicious address and protect the ecosystem? This is the power of NOT RENOUNCING A CONTRACT. Of course, such power comes with enormous responsibility. The community must be able to trust that those controls will not be abused against legitimate holders. Centralization has its disadvantages, but moments like this also demonstrate why emergency administrative controls can sometimes become a security feature. Sometimes, what people criticize as “control” is exactly what becomes useful when something goes terribly wrong. SECURITY IS ALSO PART OF BUILDING.

Binance just suffered the largest hack in (crypto) history: roughly $6.3B affected, more than four times the $1.5B Bybit hack. Initial findings pointed to a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop, with investigators since identifying additional points of breach. @Binance says it found no evidence of leaked wallet private keys. The response showed why industry coordination matters: → @Tether froze ~$1.57B in USDT → @Circle froze $800M+ in USDC → ~$3B frozen overall, and Binance pledged to cover all user losses It was still a race against time. The attacker posted stolen USDT as collateral on @Aave and borrowed ~20,000 WETH (~$44M) before Aave froze its markets. Issuers can freeze stablecoins, but not the assets attackers swap or borrow into. Frozen assets are not automatically recovered, and the final loss remains unclear. @Binance has pledged to make users whole. Not every platform could absorb a hit like this. That's the overlooked lesson for investors: custody. We research assets and diversify portfolios, but diversification shouldn't stop at what you own. Where and how you hold it matters too. Spread exposure across platforms. Use hardware wallets for long-term holdings, and consider multisig for larger amounts, with every signer verifying what they approve. If you self-custody, treat key management and backups as seriously as the investment itself. Protecting your assets deserves the same attention as growing them.

The precautionary suspension affected both Indonesian rupiah and crypto transactions while the exchange investigated and addressed the issue. CEO @WilliamSutanto has confirmed that all identified findings have been resolved. Security checks found no unauthorized transfers or data breaches, and customer funds and personal data remain secure. The exchange has also introduced additional safeguards and is completing final security verification before deposit and withdrawal services resume.

If Ackermans are immune to the Founding Titan’s power, how was Mikasa still able to enter Paths when Eren brought her there? What exactly does their immunity protect them from?

Something about Mikasa’s connection to Paths has always confused me. The Ackermans were persecuted by the royal family because they were immune to the Founding Titan’s memory manipulation. That’s why the King couldn’t erase their memories when he changed the memories of the other Eldians inside the Walls. But then we see Eren bring Mikasa into Paths during the final chapters, despite her being an Ackerman. I always understood their immunity as making them resistant to the Founder’s influence, so seeing Mikasa experience Paths like this feels strange. The story never really explains the exact limits of an Ackerman’s connection to the Founder. We know they aren’t affected by memory alteration, but how far does that immunity actually go?

The truth is, application security should be one of the highest priorities of every engineering team. Every engineer building or maintaining an application should take security seriously. It shouldn’t be something we remember only when we’re preparing for production or when an incident happens. But here’s something I think a lot of companies overlook. You cannot guarantee that an application will be 100% secure. No matter how many security layers, penetration tests, audits or monitoring systems you put in place, there is always a possibility that something slips through. So, beyond preventing security breaches, every company operating an application needs to ask itself another important question: What happens when we eventually get breached? How quickly can we detect it? How quickly can we contain it? How quickly do we communicate with affected customers? What automated notification systems do we have in place? How do we keep customers informed while the engineering team works on resolving the incident? When something like this happens, customers shouldn’t have to depend on random X posts, Telegram groups or rumours to understand what’s happening to their money or data. There should already be an incident communication strategy. Automated alerts, email notifications, status pages, in-app notifications and clear customer communication channels should be part of the architecture and operational planning. If withdrawals are suspended, customers should know. If customer data is potentially affected, customers should be informed. If an incident is resolved, customers should receive an update. Security engineering doesn’t end at preventing an attack. It also involves preparing for failure, containing the damage, communicating transparently and restoring customer confidence. Build applications that are difficult to compromise, but build systems that know how to respond when they are.
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice. Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions. binance.com/en/support/annou…

I was speaking with a female friend of mine who works at one of the most renowned telecommunications companies in Nigeria. She’s a friend, so we got talking, and at some point, she sent me a link to apply for a position. I clicked on the link, and the first thing I saw was “Manager - Payments.” I shouted! 😂 She asked why I was shouting, and I told her, “Manager ke?” Apparently, she knows what I’m capable of and believes I should go for it. Now, here’s the interesting part: this isn’t even a role within the company’s Nigerian operations. It’s a position under the company’s international operations in another country. Manager - Payments. 😂 Sometimes, people see possibilities in you that you haven’t even considered for yourself. Make I apply my people ? You trust in me ?

But here’s another thing: Paradis had livestock and access to milk, so it’s not like they had no way of getting the main ingredient. If they could produce milk, why hadn’t anyone figured out how to make ice cream? Are they that slow?
How did an entire civilization like Paradis go so long without discovering ice cream? 😭 Why was something so ordinary completely new to the Survey Corps?
