Kallas: At G20, Lavrov wasn’t constructive at all. He was saying that Putin will talk to Zelenskyy if he comes to Moscow. This is not the way it is. There are many neutral places where they can meet. If Putin would be serious, he would first stop killing civilians. 1/

In today’s Vatnik Soup, we examine the ties of Donald Trump and his family to Russian intelligence operatives and the Kremlin. His current dealings with Putin may shock some people, but the pattern of collusion has been clear for more than a decade. 1/25

Waited until our team crossed the border (back into UA) before commenting on this report, which got me pulled off air yesterday... But viewers should be aware of the perils and pitfalls of reporting from Russian-occupied Ukraine, where information is tightly controlled and independent journalism faces serious constraints.
.@Shelby_Wilder of Newsmax on Russia’s Oleshky stint: “Russia is using this humanitarian operation as a propaganda opportunity. Moscow wants to portray itself as the rescuer of civilians in a city that it occupies, one it has destroyed and plunged into this humanitarian crisis. And we need to be clear, Russia controls what we are going to be allowed to see. Moscow appears to have brought in numerous Russian media compared to just the one American news outlet.”

🚨 Shelby Wilder says she got pulled off air by NewsMax for telling the truth about Russia, which is falsely portraying itself as the rescuer of Ukrainian civilians in a city it destroyed and now occupies. Also, despite NewsMax being tasked by the White House to essentially represent US presence on the ground in Oleshky as an impartial observer, the White House has refused to guarantee the safety of NewsMax employees. The fact tha nobody trusts Russia is being covered up.

‼️ @Shelby_Wilder from Kyiv on @NEWSMAX as the channel covers the evacuation from Oleshky: "Newsmax crew is in Oleshky to be independent observers. But we have to make no mistake to give context to the situation. Russia is using this humanitarian operation as a propaganda opportunity. Moscow wants to portray itself as the rescuer of civilians in a city that it occupies. One it has destroyed and plunged into this humanitarian crisis. And we need to be clear: Russia controls what we are going to be allowed to see. Moscow appears to have brought in numerous Russian media compared to just the one American news outlet. Because of that, our team is not is not going to have an unrestricted picture of life under Russian occupation. The people that we could speak to very well could be under duress, and Russian authorities are showing us what they want the world to see. That is essential when we're going to be evaluating the first images and reports that are coming out of Oleshky. But nonetheless, the fact that civilians are being evacuated and offer this humanitarian aid this is historic. This has been brokered by the White House, and this is a significant point in the war. We're seeing a localized ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine continue to hold to enable this operation to take place. We are again tracking the developments coming out of Oleshky today. All eyes are on this ceasefire, and we will certainly keep you posted."

“I would like someone to explain to me how one should react to the killing of several dozen passengers at a railway station in Dnipro. How does one react politely to the bombing of cities, to the use of ballistic missiles against thermal power plants? How is one supposed not to protest against this aggressive war, which has already claimed over a million lives?” — Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, addressing calls from the Pentagon to soften rhetoric toward Russia. NEW: UK Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband has told Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov that he and his government are responsible for killing innocent civilians, condemning Thursday’s attack on Dnipro railway station Speaking directly to Lavrov at a meeting of G20 foreign ministers in the US today, Miliband said: "Let me say this directly to the Russian Foreign Minister: we all know who the aggressor in this war is. Let's talk about what happened at Dnipro railway yesterday. Only yesterday your drones attacked and killed 15 people. And there are countless examples like this of you killing innocent civilians throughout this war. We all know you are the aggressor. We all know you started this war four and a half years ago with the full scale invasion of Ukraine. " "And Putin thought then he would win this war easily. But you are are not winning this war. Thanks to the courage of the Ukrainian people and the solidarity of countries round this table, you are not winning. If you had the courage to tell the truth and to do what is right you would tell Putin that he is not winning this war and will not win."

There were a huge number of explosions in Kyiv last night. 14 train passengers are dead in Dnipro. russian media & Trump family are celebrating a ‘ceasefire’ in Ukraine. It’s vital to remember what’s going on here: The humanitarian crisis that russia caused in Oleshky is now being used as a PR opportunity. Currently, Ukranian civilians are being brought to russia instead of a humanitarian corridor promised to Ukraine. Russians are also now using this to restock their positions in Oleshky so they can hit Kherson like never before once the cameras leave. That’s it so far. Not the end of the war.

How predictable. According to BILD, Russian forces are using the ceasefire in Oleshky to reinforce their positions, move troops and military equipment, strengthen fortifications and prepare for further military operations. And by the way, this is a small preview of what a ceasefire could look like on a much larger scale. Of course, we all want this war to end. We want the killing to stop. We want peace. But without strong security guarantees, a ceasefire could simply give Russia time to regroup, rearm and prepare for another war. And that’s exactly why security guarantees for Ukraine aren’t some optional extra we can figure out later. Because the last thing we need is a ceasefire that gives Putin a few years to prepare for his next invasion.

These motherfuckers didn’t just screw over a Pope with cancer. The whole Oleshky story is a Putin information operation designed to save that old orange ass from electoral defeat. Guys, this needs to become an atomic bomb for the bastards in the White House. If you haven’t written about it yet, share this post. As many people as possible need to know this story. What I had previously only suspected on instinct has now been confirmed. It turns out that the absurd “Melania Trump ceasefire” in Oleshky was literally Putin’s idea. He personally “very much wanted” Melania to act as mediator, her senior adviser Mark Beckman told the Kyiv Independent. Well, you could have guessed that, and I did immediately. A person who can barely string two words together was hardly going to organize something like this better than the Pope. More than that, Putin sent her a special letter saying that Russia officially recognized Melania as its “exclusive intermediary.” Do you understand what that means? Russia has occupied Oleshky for four and a half years, blocked the city, prevented humanitarian aid from getting in, and driven the remaining residents into an acute shortage of food and medicine. And then Putin picks Trump’s wife as the person who will be allowed to “solve” the problem. And he does it right before the elections, when Trump’s collapsing ratings desperately need saving. Trump, the politician who is now effectively helping Putin force Ukraine into capitulation. The White House has already announced that it was Melania who “secured the ceasefire,” while four journalists from Newsmax, Trump’s pet TV network, have been sent to Oleshky as “neutral observers” to present the entire operation to an American audience in exactly the right light. You can bet your ass they won’t just advertise the orange ape as the greatest humanitarian genius in human history. They’ll advertise Putin right alongside him. John Foreman, the former British defense attaché in Moscow and Kyiv, is calling this exactly what it is: a deliberate Kremlin operation. “They know exactly what they’re doing.” According to him, allowing Melania to take credit for the ceasefire gives Russia a way to present the Trumps to the MAGA audience as peacemakers immediately before the midterms. In other words, Moscow first creates a humanitarian catastrophe, then allows the family of the U.S. president to stage a spectacular “rescue” of that catastrophe in order to save themselves from political disaster. Fuck, I genuinely don’t have enough words to express how unbelievably vile and disgusting this is. I’m choking on the hatred of it. They have turned one of the largest man-made humanitarian catastrophes of the 21st century into a fucking medal pinned to an orange ass.
