Thanks to @DylanRRoberts & team for an insightful visit to @YSTeachingNHS looking at past, present and future EPR developments. Amazing work to digitise ‘take lists’, bed management & patient flow. @NHSCNIO lots of interest to collaborate on the nursing documentation standard.

Our Emergency Department (ED) at York Hospital is extremely busy, if you do not need urgent medical attention our ED might not be the best place for you to get the treatment you need and you may wait a long time. Call NHS 111, or visit 111.nhs.uk for advice.

Typically, there’s a mismatch between hospital admissions and discharges. The peak of discharges is often late in the day preventing early patient flow from emergency departments and assessment units to inpatient wards.

I have changed from being a consultant thoracic surgeon to an ICU Nurse to help with the intense pressures on our ICU now. If like me you are in the NHS but working less to free up space for COVID patients, can I encourage you to #put-in-a-shift in your ICU to help them out !

This crisis has forced us to adapt like we never thought possible. Here's how we're doing that on our units, in hope that it'll help others across the globe do the same #FOAMcovid
