Late-stage democracy is more descriptive than “end-stage capitalism.” What you’re seeing is a predictable failure mode of a system in which people can vote themselves more money. That’s not a failure of capitalism, that’s unrestrained democracy robbing capitalism.

We cannot afford the house my parents purchased on a single electrician's income in their 30s.
We cannot afford the house my immigrant grandparents purchased on a single MTA bus driver's salary in their 30s. They had SIX CHILDREN.
For 30 years, politicians in Washington & their oligarch allies convinced regular people that this was just about avocado toast and fancy coffee.
In reality, this is end-stage capitalism. Everyone is stuck in place. It's impossible to buy a home. It's too costly to move. We work too much to have passion projects. We don't have enough savings to start our own businesses. We can't afford to go without healthcare to do it.

My gym has a women-only section. The women who work out there tend to dress in baggy shirts, sweats, and wear little or no makeup. The women who dress like whores and apply makeup with a trowel ("for themselves") avoid that part of the gym like the plague. Odd🤔
This "Cornell 7" case is interesting to watch. The people getting frothed up don't even know the basic, readily accessible facts at hand. The powers that be told them to get enraged, so they complied and lack even basic curiosity about details beyond approved messaging. Puppets!

My X feed is chock full of Canadians expressing their "resistance" to America, some even fretting over an imminent invasion. Meanwhile, in the real world US citizens barely even think about Canada. You guys up North are ingesting INSANE amounts of propaganda.

I asked an HR director why external hires get paid 25% more than internal promotions doing the exact same job.
Her response: "External hiring relies on real-time market value.
Internal promotions rely on salary band progression rules."
Translated:
If you stay loyal, they cap your pay using internal bureaucratic rules.
If you leave for a competitor, they pay you market rate using their expanded talent acquisition budget.
Corporate loyalty isn't rewarded….it's priced in as a discount.
