Crypto voters don’t sort into red and blue, and new research from @fund_defi shows it.
@jenn_rosenthal makes the case: Republicans and Democrats are asking for the same thing: clear rules that let crypto innovation happen here.
“Treating crypto as a political battleground only makes it harder to build the secure, transparent, American-made financial system that most Americans say they want, argues DEF’s @jenn_rosenthal.”

New data out today on how Americans feel about the financial system. Phantom helped sponsor this research through @fund_defi, and @Ipsos ran it independently on the same panel the Fed uses. What stood out: people want more control over their money than they have now. 🧵

Incredible data coming from our friends at @fund_defi today!
2 in 3 Americans want access to their money 24/7/365, which is exactly what crypto offers 👏💯
2 in 3 Americans want access to their money 24/7, but less than half of Americans half feel in control of their own financial assets.
Gaps like these are the story of our new research with @Ipsos. Watch the numbers 👇

Great data from DEF! People want control over their finances and don't believe the current financial system adequately serves them.
It's clear from this data that accessibility of blockchain-enabled and privacy preserving technologies is more important than ever.

Excellent new data from @fund_defi and @Ipsos.
What stands out to me: Americans want more control over their financial lives, and they’re not getting it.
- 80% say the financial system needs changes to give people more control over their personal data,
- 74% say financial privacy is important to them, and
- 66% want access to their money at all times.
But only 49% feel they actually have control over their financial assets.
Meanwhile, adoption of the tech that meets their needs keeps climbing:
22% of Americans have now owned or used crypto (up from 18% last year), and 40% say they’re at least somewhat likely to try DeFi if it were available to them.
Americans want control over their assets. DeFi gives it to them.

For years, the big question about DeFi has been how most people would use it. The Americans most likely to try it say everyday finance: 85% would use it to save money and 82% to send money to family. Props to @Ipsos and @fund_defi for digging into this.
One week out from the midterms, we’ve got hot new research from @Ipsos and @fund_defi on how Americans view the US financial system and new technologies like crypto and DeFi.
Americans are using crypto more and want to try DeFi for everyday finance. Candidates should take note.
A few things stand out:
More than 1 in 5 Americans (22%) have owned or used crypto, up from 18% in 2025. It holds across parties: 24% of Republicans and 21% of Democrats.
Crypto use is growing faster than understanding. Only 9% of Americans say they’re extremely or very familiar with crypto, and 35% aren’t sure how to describe it.
DeFi’s appeal is practical. Among Americans likely to try it, 85% would use it to save money and 82% to send money to friends or family in the US Both numbers are up from last year.
1 in 3 Americans (35%) say it’s important for candidates to support building the next generation of financial technology in the US. Republicans (15%) and Democrats (13%) are nearly identical in calling it extremely or very important that candidates back crypto, blockchain, and DeFi.
