Mostly Sunny and 85F. It's Summer's last gasp.
Despite the lack of exciting rocket hardware outside, things have been pretty busy at the facility, but nothing notable from what I've seen. I'm sure there is plenty going on inside...
A cover has been placed over the "mystery black box" structure.
The transport trailer has been at rest by the lagoon for quite some time. I'm hoping to see it move soon as we await Neutron hardware shipments to Wallops.
I'll continue passing by regularly and will post anything exciting!
That cone-shaped object in the image passing the very overexposed moon is the Falcon Heavy rocket, which just launched from Florida. In the upper right is the Taurus constellation.
"SpaceX successfully launched its Falcon Heavy rocket on the NROL-97 national security mission. The rocket lifted off from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 11:54 p.m. EDT on October 1, 2026 (0354 UTC on October 2)." #FalconHeavy #SpaceX #SpaceLaunch #RocketLaunch #RocketPhotography #LaunchPhotography #SpacePhotography #SpaceXLaunch #FalconHeavyLaunch #FloridaSpaceCoast #CapeCanaveral #RocketScience #Space #Astronomy #NightSky

We are currently waiting for a live fire @USNavy exercise involving at least two sounding rockets launching from @NASAWallops. Here’s a picture a similar demonstration in July of 2024. We are currently at least 20mins out from the first launch but have a wayward boat in the range
engadget.com/2240611/nasa-ca… This is a shame it did not work out, but I know the timeline was tight building the spacecraft.
