Greek City Times published an open letter to Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey this week. It reads in part:
"We did not vanish. Greek people did not disappear after the age of myth. Greek culture was not frozen in classical marble. We are still here. For more than 3,000 continuous years, Greek identity has persisted."
The addendum: "Given Hollywood's insistence for minority representation, authenticity and diversity — where are the Greeks, or the Greek Americans in this Greek story?"
The film shot in Greece, with Greek funding, across Greek locations. Not one cast member is Greek.
Hollywood required diversity for every production except this one.

Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it.
Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying.
Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence."
Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter."
Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter.
They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created.
One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility."
Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies.
That's the metered intelligence business model.
And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.

🇬🇷POPULATION COLLAPSE IS GREECE'S BIGGEST THREAT
New figures predict its population will drop sharply by up to 25% by 2070, far higher than the EU average of 4%.
In 2022, the country recorded fewer than 77,000 births, the lowest in nearly a century, while deaths reached 140,000.
Economic challenges, low wages, and high unemployment have driven many young Greeks abroad, worsening the crisis.
Greece's fertility rate is now just 1.32 births per woman, leading to an aging population.
The government has introduced tax incentives and family support measures to combat the trend, with officials calling it the nation's "biggest threat."

🎬 Big News! 🎬
In 2013, I took a leap and started FilmLemon, my small indie production studio. What began as a way to distribute my short films quickly grew into something more—a true production company focused on narrative-driven projects. 🧵
I'm excited about this new chapter and can't wait to create narrative pieces that inspire, entertain, and make people think.
Reflecting on my journey—from FilmLemon's humble beginnings to collaborating with John and now joining Theory Films—I'm incredibly grateful for every experience that brought me here.
Working with him taught me so much about the commercial industry and how to adjust as a director. Now, in 2024, I'm over the moon to announce I've signed with @theoryfilmsuk!
He was starting @storyflow.entertainment , and his passion and vision blew me away. John was doing what I aimed to do with FilmLemon but on another level—50 times better and 100 times more focused.
In 2018, I moved from Greece to London to chase bigger dreams. Starting as a runner and working up to a first assistant director, I learned everything I could. Then in 2021, I met @johnmouratis.
It was a one-man band operation, but I had the luck of amazing partners like @jimkallifatidis , my great friend and producer from film school, who joined me on this crazy journey.
No empty corporate content, just pure storytelling. As FilmLemon evolved, so did I. Tight budgets and ambitious projects meant I wore many hats: director, producer, editor, colourist, and project manager.

Most of the UK film industry (otherwise known as America’s backlot) is completely shut down putting tens of thousands out of work. In this moment, UK independent film should flourish. Studios have space, kit is on shelves, crew are at home waiting.
Astoria, our short film, is now available on Cinobo.com! Finding distribution for shorts can be tough, so we're grateful for this opportunity. New subscribers can use "APTHCINE45" for a 45-day free trial. #supportindiefilm #shortfilm #director
Here’s the link if you live in Greece or Cyprus or if you know your way around with a VPN ;) cinobo.com/astoria
A rare behind-the-scenes moment from the set of our latest project with @storyflow.entertainment. It's always an exhilarating experience to work with such a talented team. I couldn't be more excited about what's to come ⭐️

Meeting talented individuals is a major perk of my job. Had the opportunity to chat with architects behind the World Trade Center and Burj Khalifa - humbling to collaborate with such accomplished professionals. Can’t wait to share! #film #director #inspiration
