Terry references Jon Hassell's Solid State. It was the first work of his I heard - and it was powerful experience for me too. It happened in 1976 at Studio C, York University's Electronic Media Studios, Toronto.

March 22 was Jon Hassell’s birthday Here we are at SUNY Buffalo around 1968 setting up for the one and only concert of the Persian Surgery Orchestra. That big Moog in the photo is the one Jon used to compose his powerful work SOLID STATE. Terry Riley #jonhassell #moog #suny
