In a recent interview, Dulat justified it by saying that not only Pandits, but even more Muslims were killed. He also described the execution of Afzal Guru as "unfortunate." He also helped secure safe passage through Mumbai airport for the son of former ISI chief Asad Durrani, who had been detained over visa violations and document irregularities. His wife was seen shopping in Dubai on several occasions with Asad Durrani's wife. During his time as RAW chief, Dulat, along with Farooq Abdullah, arranged a medical college seat for the son of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin. He also co authored a book called the "The Spy Chronicles, RAW, ISI and the Illusion of Peace" with former ISI chief Asad Durrani. A S Dulat has publicly described the ISI as the world's most powerful intelligence agency and even said that, if given a choice, he would prefer to be head the ISI. Dulat has repeatedly criticised NSA Ajit Doval, calling him "hawkish" for his approach to China and opposing his doctrine on Kashmir. Remember what Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat had stated that India faces a two and a half front war.
