"Chairman, a country without reserves is not sovereign. The potential of this Bill to destabilize Uganda’s balance of payments is our primary concern as a central bank. For example, last financial year the overall balance of payment surplus was USD 1.5 billion. That’s how we were able to increase our reserve coverage by USD 1.5 billion. Today as we speak our reserves are close to USD 6 billion. Why? Because these inflows have been coming in. The moment you tamper with these inflows here, we risk running down our reserves, and that is economic disaster for a country.” Governor Atingi-Ego on the Protection of Sovereignty Bill 2026 in an appearance before Parliament today.

TOURISM HIGH SEASON I flew into Entebbe airport on 31st May 2026 from Mombasa aboard @UG_Airlines good service but almost empty plane. I flew out on 5th June 2026 to Rwanda, almost empty plane and flew back yesterday almost empty plane and Entebbe airport basically empty for a high season. I sat a crane cafeteria at entebbe airport on the 5th of June with my son and was excited to see 3 other people join us, I recorded a video. Uganda has one international airport, as we arrived I could feel the immigration officers were excited to see us, they filled the booths to see everyone served quickly and simply took minutes to go through. Tanzania now with many international airports is booming, every airport is crazy busy, yes they border Congo too. Young people are busy because of tourism across Tanzania. Today Rwanda is hosting UB 40 and I met Ugandans , Nigerians, Namibians, Kenyans etc who have flown in to watch UB 40, those are opportunities for the country and the population understands that. I was shocked at MOVENPICK hotel how many waiters walked to me to thank me for posting about Rwanda online. 2 of them said, when Rwanda appears in good light, it sustains their jobs. They held BAL just recently and spenders flew from everywhere to watch the most entertaining basketball games on the continent. It’s not just about the game but great imagine it continues to build for the country. Kenya is booming, even the few conferences which were meant for Uganda are either going there or the other neighbors, Kenya is hosting 100s of conferences. Mombasa alone was maxing out when I was there end of May 2026, I witnessed a 400 room hotel send away another 100 guests. A dream for Uganda hotel owners! UGANDAS MAJOR ISSUE? Handling is information and it’s been worse in the last 6yrs. Wrong people facing the cameras

20 years of faithfulness! Today I celebrate and congratulate my honey on 20 years of marriage. Today we celebrate 20 years of being happily naked and unashamed before each other. Here are some of the things that have helped us grow to this point: faithfulness, great conversations, generosity, great sex and God. God: All through, it’s been God. Looking at the way we met - two different people from different backgrounds bonding and seamlessly becoming one - it can only be God’s doing. He has been our anchor in everything we’re doing and aspire for. Our shared faith makes the journey more enjoyable. And with God at the heart of our relationship, we are stronger. As they say, a cord of 3 isn’t easily broken. Faithfulness: One of the 11 songs that played on our wedding day was “I Promise” by Cece Winans. It was a mutual choice. Here are part of the lyrics… “Everything I have is yours You're everything I prayed and waited for And my love, I promise you.” That was a promise we made to each other and it’s a promise that we try to keep to each other every day, in everything. It’s a promise which has helped us stay faithful, financially transparent, spiritually honest, and on the same page of parenting. I am never worried of where she is, whom she’s meeting and to whom she sent money or what was she is looking for on my phone. She’s so faithful, trustworthy and diligent. So she keeps all the money, the ATM cards and passwords; my job is to ensure everything is working and we are on track to meet our goals. That peace is irreplaceable. Generosity: In the last 20 years, this girl has taught me the difference between stewardship and generosity. Guys if I wasn’t married to Carol, I wouldn’t be broke but I don’t think I would have been able to achieve what we’ve achieved. Before we met I used to think I was generous, helping and sharing with those in need. But I was too random and lacked purpose. Then Carol entered the room. Then we talked and decided to keep track of every single coin we earned, our responsibilities, and our financial goals including our giving. And that discipline has helped us to support more people, be more generous and I think be better stewards of what God has blessed us with. Conversation: From the very first day I talked to this girl, our conversations have never stopped. We can talk! Every time I go anywhere, I can’t wait to get back and talk to my baby. Chick has grown to understand and enjoy conversations about football, politics, conspiracies, and walking, just like I have grown to enjoy stories of wedding dresses, cooking, books and all things girls talk about. When I miss chatting with her after an early morning and a long day, the following day, I squeeze in a moment to call her to catch up. And sometimes a long conversation in the night while cuddling hasn’t been a great contraceptive. Great sex: In our early years, we discovered the sweetest way to conclude our “peace talks” was making love. Whether it’s journeying through a rough patch or preparing for a major business meeting, lovemaking has the power of calming down everything and put us in the right mood for any battle. And over the years I can say, those regular moments between the two of us are indeed the glue of our relationship. Girl, you’re still the one I want to walk with for the rest of my life.

REPORTED: SOUTH AFRICAN VISA ISSUE – UGANDAN PASSPORTS HELD It has been reported that a consular officer identified as MODJADJI MAHLANGU, attached to the South African High Commission in Kampala, allegedly took possession of passports belonging to Ugandan visa applicants. According to affected individuals, the passports were locked in her office, which has reportedly remained closed for two consecutive days. Staff at the South African High Commission in Kampala are said to be unaware of her whereabouts and unable to access the documents. Several of the affected passport holders were scheduled to travel for the @2OceansMarathon , with confirmed flights and accommodation already paid for, raising serious concern and frustration. Authorities at the High Commission have reportedly not provided clear guidance on how the situation will be resolved. The matter has sparked concern among applicants, with calls for urgent intervention from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Uganda (@mofaug) and relevant South African authorities, including @HomeAffairsSA, to address the situation and safeguard the rights of Ugandan travelers. This is not right guys

SOUTH AFRICAN VISAS UGANDAN PASSPORTS Guys, a person called MODJADJI MAHLANGU - Consular officer at South African High Commission, in Kampala took passports of Ugandans who had applied for visas. She locked their passports in her office and not even a single person at South African high commission, in Kampala can do anything. Her office was locked yesterday and locked today, some of the passports holders were meant to travel for 2 oceans marathons, paid tickets, accommodations and the high commission in Kampala says they don’t know where she is. SOUNDS LIKE A JOKE! @HomeAffairsSA what’s this? Ministry of foreign affairs Uganda( @mofaug ) please don’t take this lightly, follow it up and let Ugandans not be taken for granted. Tag South African authorities.

🔺 Reuters: The era of aircraft carriers is coming to an end; USS Abraham Lincoln is limping out of the Persian Gulf. 🔺 Reuters: With its military ingenuity, Iran has proven that aircraft carriers are no longer “impregnable fortresses,” but merely large and expensive targets. 🔺 CNN: A national trauma; how could a $13-billion asset be rendered ineffective within minutes? 🔺 CNN: The return of the USS Abraham Lincoln to the United States in this condition is the biggest blow to the reputation of the American military since the Vietnam War. 🔺 Sputnik: The legend is dead; Abraham Lincoln arrived to threaten, but is returning as a floating pile of scrap. 🔺 AFP (Agence France-Presse): Panic in the Pentagon; with the withdrawal of the USS Abraham Lincoln, the balance of power in West Asia has definitively shifted in Iran’s favor. 🔺 AFP: U.S. allies are horrified; if even America’s largest warship cannot protect itself against Iran, no one can rely on American protection anymore. 🔺 The Telegraph: This defeat will go down in history as “the moment Western naval dominance collapsed.”

Around 2015, when the World Bank was encouraging the Ministry to establish a Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (MATA) as part of the broader BRT agenda, I attended a World Bank workshop in Addis Ababa with a colleague who has since left the Ministry. One statement from the facilitators has stayed with me ever since: “You cannot engineer yourself out of traffic congestion.” He explained that building more roads, widening highways, or constructing flyovers cannot, on their own, solve congestion. Congestion is not simply a road‑capacity problem. It is fundamentally a behavioural, economic, land‑use, and road‑management problem. Engineering interventions treat the symptoms, not the underlying causes. He highlighted several issues that illustrate this point: Induced or Latent Demand: Whenever road capacity is increased, more people choose to drive because the road initially feels faster. Over time, the new lanes fill up and congestion returns. This pattern is well‑documented globally. He gave the example of Seoul, South Korea — a city I had visited in 2007 and seen the phenomenon firsthand. Kampala’s Radial Network: Kampala’s road network funnels traffic from Entebbe, Masaka, Jinja, Hoima, and Gayaza into a very small CBD core. Even with flyovers, all these streams still converge at the same point. A flyover may remove conflict at one junction, but it does not reduce the volume entering the city. Land‑use Patterns: Most jobs, services, and government offices are concentrated in the CBD. This creates strong tidal flows: everyone enters the city in the morning and leaves in the evening. Flyovers cannot change the distribution of demand. Kampala continues to grow inward rather than outward, intensifying pressure on the same limited space. The Geometry Problem: In dense cities, the real bottleneck is rarely the roads themselves. It is the intersections, off‑ramps, and city streets. You can build a 12‑lane highway/road but if all those vehicles must eventually exit onto a 2‑lane urban road with traffic lights, you have simply created a faster way to reach a stationary queue. Weak Last‑mile Connectivity: Even when trunk roads are improved, the feeder roads in suburbs such as Ntinda, Najjera, Kisaasi, Makindye, Nansana, and Kireka remain narrow, unpaved, or poorly managed. Congestion simply shifts from the improved section to the next choke point. Other Systemic Factors: Land‑use planning, enforcement, public transport quality, roadside activity, and general road management all influence congestion. Without addressing these, engineering solutions alone cannot deliver lasting relief. Summary The lesson from that workshop from the Kampala’s live in or work in is clear: you cannot build your way out of congestion. Sustainable mobility requires a combination of engineering, planning, enforcement, behavioural change, and institutional reform. ADDING LANES TO FIX TRAFFIC CONGESTATION IS AKIN TO LOOSENING YOUR BELT TO CURE OBESITY. IT ADRESSES THE SYMPTOM (TIGHTNESS) WITHOUT FIXING THE CAUSE.
The mother of all traffics happening in Kyanja this morning. AVOID Kisasi—Kyanja road. Not sure of the cause. Man, this city needs roads! @mkainerugaba

As a mother, my heart is breaking 💔 as I think about what happened to Barbie Kyagulanyi.
She endured house arrest in silence but even that was not enough. They broke into her home, terrorised her, beat her and left her helpless as her children and other family members watched in pain. Where does this leave the children? What trauma will they carry from seeing their mother’s fear in the place meant to keep them and the mother safe? This should disturb every right-thinking Ugandan. And condemn these acts bse This is not law enforcement it is terror. My heart bleeds for Barbie, the children, and every family living in fear wondering who’s next.

The tragedy happening at Uganda Airlines is far beyond even my 2019 doomsday predictions. One plane is stuck in Lagos, another in London, passengers stranded, airline rapidly falling apart as top management loot with impunity. Even God cannot save this airline.

There is an urgent need for the government to handle the issues affecting the operations of @UG_Airlines. Buy more planes to avoid a disaster that would have more severe ramifications on an already struggling business. Nevertheless we love our own airline, which needs to do better

Self marketing/ PR 1- I have always said, as a human being first fight hard to get skilled, if they look around for a particular skill, you should be the best or one of the best… 2- value networking because however skilled one is, if people don’t know how skilled you are, they won’t use osmosis to know. Networking after getting skilled will require you to have the right attitude towards work or application of the skill and people. Hard work beats talent when talent does work hard. When you follow the above order of things, if when things go bad, it’s easier to build yourself up again. If you jump to money without skills, the fall is very hard and going back up is harder. 3- networking can also be self marketing for example and like I said it’s very critical in this life. The right self marketing is continuously pushing the agenda of what you are good at. Show through talk and action, though action is louder. The mistake you should never make is marketing the weaknesses of your competition with the hope that people will buy or pay for your skills. The people that have ability to offer you opportunities aren’t stupid, they applied their brains well to be where they are. They read through you so well. If you have followed me for a long time, you will never hear me talk down my competition and when I talk about them, I will high light their strengths. That way your competition may hate you or not like you but will quietly respect you and your abilities. I remember a particular moment, Hon. Kamuntu had been transferred to ministry of water from tourism. He invited me to the ministry of water as first guest and told me, Amos there wasn’t any single week that passed without people coming to my office to accuse of things. He added, I don’t remember a single time you came to my office to accuse anyone, you always focused on what should happen. If you disagreed with people, you never shied away from saying it directly and would articulate clearly why you disagreed with them. He adds, you always had your facts and figures and it was always up to those who disagreed to challenge your figures. You always prepared before engaging people. Good weekend
