➡️Noninvasive/lower risk than ICA
➡️Comparable radiation exposure vs diagnostic ICA
➡️Allows assessment of coronary lumen and wall
➡️Visualization of the myocardium, wall motion, and LVEF (note EF requests † radiation)
➡️Lower spatial resolution than ICA and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) or optical coherence tomography (OCT)
➡️More artifacts (motion and misalignment) and preparation (beta blocker, nitroglycerin, and breath holding) required vs ICA
CTA can aid in the diagnosis and management of SCAD. This non-invasive imaging technique provides high-quality images of the coronary arteries, helping guide appropriate treatment decisions.
