🇾🇪 Wishing a very happy 68th birthday to the great Gary Bailey
Following Alex Stepney’s retirement, Bailey stepped up to the challenge and helped us win 2 FA Cups in 1983 and 1985.
He went on to make 294 appearances for the club 🔴⚪️⚫️
Have a great one, Gary 🍷

Gary and Arthur Albiston came to my local club when I was about 10. In the excitement to get their autographs I went arse over tit when running to them, they kindly picked me up off the floor & checking I was ok before giving me their autographs, it was a hell of a way to q jump

That save in 83 was almost as good and certainly important as Alex Stepney in the EC Final in 68. Great record when facing penalties. Happy birthday @gary_bailey1 👏

I agree with Renee but am still hopeful that Senne will become a great goalkeeper like my successor Peter Schmeichel….but it’s true that we should’ve signed Emile Martenez or Donnarumma - both world class keepers and capable of taking us back to being a top 4 team !

What a keeper @gary_bailey1 was. Legend.
And my dad was so gutted that all these wonderful players that he so admired would be lost to the football world !

It is 1981 and there is a trophy design of its era in the Daily Star Golden Glove Trophy for four clean sheets in a row - wonder if @gary_bailey1 still has it!

… and used to wear gardening gloves on rainy days 😳😂😂
Did you know (or care) that the last #FACup final to be played
where neither of the goalkeepers wore gloves was in 1979.

Thanks for these wonderful comments …some w😞fantastic FA cup wins in the mid 80’s 👍👍
The Greatest of All time in the Premier League! I don't care what anyone says regrading this man! He made me love Goalkeepers, You remember @gary_bailey1 loved him in the 80's but this man changed Goalkeeping for the better, No All time premier league team does not have him in!

Congrats to everyone at @PHXRisingFC on the first star!
Plenty of ups and downs this season, but this playoff run was nothing short of spectacular. So much credit goes to @juanguerra16 and what he was able to build through so much adversity in year one. ¡Vamos Rising!
Agree with Josh … awesome game … moments like this are a commentators dream !!
Sunday night was one of the best games I’ve had the pleasure of calling. It really had it all: drama, heartbreak, jubilation. The video below does a great job capturing the night.
Here is how the game winning goal sounded on @azfamily with myself and @gary_bailey1 ⬇️
