George Lucas spent 17 YEARS getting this museum built and its first movie premiere is not Star Wars, not some legacy franchise, but an ORIGINAL DreamWorks film rooted in Filipino mythology.
Even better, Forgotten Island premiered there ONE DAY after the museum opened to the public. 😭
A building dedicated to the history of visual storytelling opened its movie-premiere era by giving a new culture and a new story the spotlight.
That is actually a pretty perfect first film.

It's The Hangover meets bizarre Studio Ghibli.
It's refreshingly bright & colorful. The relentless, frenetic pacing leaves little time to breathe & there are too many ideas packed in, but overall it's a blast!

One day during filming of The Drop, Mynka, the costume designer, asked if I had the Lotto sweatshirt Ice-T is wearing in the photos below. Problem wanted it for his character, Trig. It was one of the rare pieces I didn’t have, so instead, Mynka and Problem recreated it. That’s the sweatshirt Problem wears in the episode.
Problem was adamant about using Ice-T’s style as inspiration for Trig. The attention to the era was on point
