Your music library, as a radio station.
One shared stream. An AI DJ that picks from your own Navidrome library, talks between songs and takes requests. No skip button.
Self-hosted, runs fully local, MIT.
SUB/WAVE v1.30.0 is out 📻
Self-hosted radio for your own music library: one stream everyone hears together, with an AI DJ that picks the tracks and talks between them.
A big one this time, mostly in the library 👇
💿 Mount your music folder and the mixer plays straight from disk, once it has proved each file is the right track
🔁 Swap in a better rip and it gets re-analysed
🧼 Clean shows keep explicit tracks off air
✂️ Clear out stems left by tracks you've removed
🔧 Fixes you'll hear: requests find the track you named, half-hour time zones change shows on the hour, no sign-in box over the web player, smoother sweep transitions, and the DJ stops reading "placeholder" out loud.

SUB/WAVE v1.29.0 is out 📻
Self-hosted radio with an AI DJ. This one's about the moment you tune in. Paused stations wake within a second, the web player skips stale silence on MP3, and Opus listeners stop waiting out the pause.

I built an AI radio station that runs in my house, plays only my music, and has no skip button. Taking the controls away turned out to be the whole point.

By the end you'll have a station running on one computer: your music, a DJ that chooses the next track and talks between them, and a live stream you can open in a browser or app. h3r3.com/writing/set-up-your…
SUB/WAVE v1.28.0 is out 📻
Self-hosted radio for your own music library, with an AI DJ. This one adds synced lyrics in the web player and app, timed to what you're hearing, plus opt-in station IDs over song openings.

Self-hosted radio for your own music library: one stream everyone hears together, and an AI DJ that picks the tracks and talks between them.
This one's all about looks. Here's all eight player skins in 30 seconds 👇
🎛️ AXO-1 and Cipher-3 rebuilt as hardware: brushed metal, keys that press, dot-matrix glass. On Cipher-3 you type requests on a rotor machine.
🏕️ TTY's focus mode draws ASCII scenes that move with the music.
🎨 Phosphor and Riso, the first themes with texture.
🪞 A new Appearance menu: pick a theme or skin by its preview.
📱 No more stutter on iPad Safari, on any skin.
🔧 Fixes you'll see: Platter's record stops when you stop, keys keep their depth on dark themes.

SUB/WAVE v1.26.0 is out 📻
Self-hosted radio for your own music library: one stream everyone hears together, with an AI DJ that picks the tracks and talks between them.
A mid-sized drop. Jingles finally behave, and Library search takes real queries now 👇
🔎 Library search takes real queries: genre:jazz year:[1955 TO 1965], wildcards, regex, OR and NOT. Plain text still works.
🚫 "Never play" on the Dash blocks the track on air. Skip it now or let it finish.
🎚️ An opt-in genre run limit keeps the DJ out of one-genre ruts.
🔧 Fixes you'll hear: jingles play to the end, the DJ waits them out before talking, new jingles join the rotation without a restart, and a request for a specific song gets that song.
Contributors wrote three of the five new features. Thank you.

Five months ago I started building a radio station for my own music library.
Today it has an AI DJ that picks songs and talks between them, takes requests, runs fully local, and has iOS, Android and desktop apps. Strangers are running their own stations on it.
Solo, open source, MIT.
Made an intro video. Would love honest feedback from people who’ve shipped things: does it make sense in the first 10 seconds?
