ACCAN is proud to support the @AuDigiInclusion’s campaign, A National Approach to Digital Inclusion.
Together, we’re calling for a stronger focus on digital literacy so that no one is left behind in our increasingly connected world.
Right now, too many Australians are being left behind:
💰 Low-income households: –18.5 below the national average
🧓 Older Australians: –12.1
🦽 People with disability: –11.8
🏘️ Public housing tenants: –11.6
These gaps limit access to emergency assistance, government services, education, jobs and social connection.
It’s time to close the divide and ensure equal digital access for all by creating:
✅ An affordable broadband product
✅ A National Device Bank @WorkVentures
✅ Digital literacy support that reaches everyone.

Congratulations to ARC DECRA Fellow Dr Boichak on being recognised for her outstanding contributions to the Humanities, including through research outcomes which aim to strengthen bilateral security cooperation and knowledge transfer with Ukraine.
The Australian Academy of the Humanities is proud to announce Dr Olga Boichak @olgarithmic from @Sydney_Uni as the recipient of the 2024 Max Crawford Medal. It is the most prestigious award for achievement and promise in the Humanities and is awarded annually to an early-career scholar.
Dr Boichak’s research plays an important role in understanding how media culture can directly impact contemporary wars, drawing on her own experiences of the war in Ukraine. She will dedicate the medal to the hundreds of Ukrainian scholars who have lost their lives to the Russian invasion: bit.ly/3AeGaMn

Thank you @AlboMP for your announcement this morning you will ‘invest’ 1.9b to expand eligibility to Single Parents Pension until youngest child reached 14. You have taken up the legacy of Gough Whitlam when he introduced the Supporting Mothers Payment in 1973, changing lives. 👍
